This is a very confusing thread - seems like the whole beginning is missing or something???

I don't want to get into the middle of... whatever happened before... I just want to say that what I read reminded me of the whole "fiancee/wife" thing. Apparently, calling a fiancee "wife" and fiance "husband" is very common with Moroccans and their sweeties - we did it. It's cute, and fun, but I agree that it's really important to be VERY careful. It DOES get to be habit, and I would imagine the longer you do it, the more it comes out automatically. At his interview, my SO saw someone get a visa denial because the guy accidently called his fiancee "my wife". So... do whatever you want, use any screen name you want... but be very careful that the correct term is used when going for the interview - and I'd imagine it's important to make sure there's nothing in any papers submitted that give them any reason to think you secretly got married or whatever. Casa is difficult and it seems like they look for ANY reason to keep from giving out visas.

Best of luck to all!

It's from a closed prior thread.

You said it very nicely and exactly what Chemaatah was pointing out above....careful with your words. There is that saying..."Be careful of your thoughts, for your thoughts become words. Be careful of your words for your words become actions. Be careful of your actions for your actions become habits. Be careful of your habits for your habits become your character. Be careful of your character, for your character becomes your destiny." A bit deeper than screen names but the point is about habits which can cause slip ups and cause problems in a difficult embassy like Casa.

Amen, sister! Casablanca, Cairo, Xiangdou, Manila, and Lagos (Nigerian Embassy) LOVE to deny visas. I actually think they get off on it. Fraud is rampant at these embassies and the cleaner you can be in your interview do it. Always remember - they are looking for any little thing to trip up someone. Little words, gestures, or remarks can kill your interview and if you don't pass the interview, you're looking at an extended period of time for more grief.

Its true, be careful VERY careful bcz sometimes it takes alot to prove to the officers at the Embassy in many of those countries and especially MENA. Its not like they LOVE to deny anyone but... they cant just believe that every "love" story is for real either.

I bow to the king! Did you get it so high from the amount of weapons you have, or was it increased by attacking and winning?

Back to topic, what Venus said is exactly the point Chemaatah was trying to make. Sometimes the words come out harsher, or sometimes because a thread gets tense, the message isn't always received as well as it should be. Believe it or not, she was making a very valid point, and she was helping. I have been on VJ long enough to have seen it cause many problems. And once you have a denial you are in for a long drawn out process that does not give you any priority dates. So it really is worth it to take any precaution necessary to avoid this.

What ever happened to that guy that was sent back at the POE? Did he ever get to join his fiance? Does anyone remember?
