Have you thought about contacting your congressman to find out what's going on? If it hasn't been touched yet, I would be concerned at this point.

yes... we are concerned.. :(

We hit today the 4-month mark since our NOA1.

So we'll be writing a letter to Matt's congressman in the next few days...

we were hoping it wouldnt come to that of course.

But look on the bright side: Canada should be an easy trip once it's through USCIS - not like the higher fraud countries, where you're most likely to go into AP regardless of your evidence/etc.

hmmm.... well maybe for AP, but Montreal is backlogged and I am looking at months of waiting once I can get in line to wait for an interview date.

meh... dont feel guilty.

it's not the fact that you guys got approved and we didnt that makes me mad, it's that they are now moving on to november if they havent even looked at our files.

If they had started adjudicating them and something was causing delays, I can understand that they are not going to hold up everybody to sort it out right away... but I just don't understand how they decide which ones are going to sit and wait while others who filed after us get processed.

My psychic prowess isn't what it used to be?

I know the feeling, someone in the regional forums (also going through Manila like us) had an interview on the 19th and their visa arrived on the 22nd (14 hours ahead there). Our interview was the 14th and still waiting... You just know it's just sitting on somebody's desk doing absolutely nothing, but there's nothing you can do about it.

We sent in our forms to the Bogota embassy yesterday saying we are ready to make the appt and got an auto reply today we can check the embassy website for the appointment schedule, and that it could be two or three months until the appointment, so we do not have a date yet. Wow, this is not what I was expecting, I though the appt might be a couple weeks out or so. Anyways, they never contacted Andrea after we received NOA 2 or told us what to do or anything. I see why many people pay lawyers, because I'm sure many people just wait and wait and nothing happens.

Anyways, I'm a bit frustrated now since we should have sent in these papers a month ago, although the papers affirm you are ready for the appointment, which we weren't. Is the process at each embassy different? It sounds like some people are calling to make appointments. We are told not to, and everything is automated.

So at this point I'm hoping to have the appt date in a week or two, probably for sometime in March. I'll be happy just having the date so I can buy my plane ticket and relax.

Be happy you aren't going through the Montreal consulate like I am. I've been waiting a month and a half for my interview date. It's estimated that interviews at montreal can take anywhere from 4-6 months.

Some consulates ARE different.

Kizza, was just checking in to see if you had any news yet. :( I think I'm starting to get more anxious for yours than I was for mine. And then, as you said, you've got Montreal to deal with and I know the frustration the VSC Montreal people have right now ( right Kayla :) )

One person recently wrote that they thought their interview would be in a few weeks..but that it was looking like a few months. I think it definitely depends on the consulate. We waited almost 2 weeks from the time the consulate had our packet to the day we found out when our interview was.. and then found we would have to wait another three months ( Yes.. Kayla.. I know you've waited more than a month and still don't know your interview date :):)

Many of us have decided that fate is playing a hand in this to make everyone equal. The faster you get your NOA2 the longer you have to wait for your interview :) I got NOA2 in 25 days.. by some freak chance.. but am then having to wait 4 months from NOA2 to the actual interview. Others have waited 3 months for NOA2 and had their interview within a few weeks. I've even seen some of the CSC people on here who had such a terribly long wait for NOA2 and they are done already :)

Kizza, if our theory is correct and the longer you wait the faster you end up getting an interview then your interview is going to be a Montreal miracle and scheduled within a few weeks :):)

Here's hoping!

I wasn't comparing, just saying I know how frustrating it can be to see no progress for no good reason and see other people getting their step finished before yours even though yours is older.

Hopefully you won't have to find out it is extremely frustrating at this phase especially, since you know you're so close, you're comparing thousands of flight combinations on all different dates, times, venues. The worst is all your friends saying "where's Vicky? I thought she'll be here by now" or people calling, emailing, asking at work "when does she arrive" and you have to say, "I don't know, sooner or later" TEN times a day. If you are like me and your best friends are trying to plan an arrival party, etc. etc. etc.

Do you know how many times you've posted how frustrated you are with this process, and then followed up with "he'll be here next week". Did you ever hear me telling you: that wasn't an option in our case, and in many other people's cases. Many countries are extremely difficult to get a visitor visa out of (or require one in the first place). There was no option for us and hundreds of other people to see each other often. My vacation time was almost used up going to see her in September and I'll use the remainder for the wedding. Can't quit my job to go see her, because need the employment to get approved. Yes, I'm thrilled we were approved and through the NVC so quickly, and that I have a very rare name (you know a lot of Dain Griff Masons?). Yes, my fiance lives in a country you can schedule your appointment almost immediately. I'm very grateful to be at this phase. I'm just trying to express some empathy. Did you ever hear me telling you? You want some sympathy? You've been with your fiance 4 times I can't see mine until this process is done?

If you're not happy for us, it's like the old saying, if you can't say something nice don't say anything at all.

I'm still in this thread to see the progress and hopefully the approval of the steps of the people still waiting. I'm still trying to show support for the people who helped keep me sane through this process. I could be like many people who just use the forum to get what they need then disappear until they need help again. Yes, it does make me feel bad and a little guilty to see especially Kizza and Cortr still waiting for the first step. That's why I'm here, to try to offer empathy and support and keep cheering for them.

I could just sign out of the forums for 2 months and start posting in the AOS section when I have questions about that, but that's just not how I am. I have a genuine wish and desire to see everyone here that has helped emotionally support me get approved and through this process, and offer them whatever support and empathy I can.

If you're not happy for us, it's like the old saying, if you can't say something nice don't say anything at all.

You knew the process going in as did I. I've been through immigration before even if it wasn't for this specific thing. I know it takes time. My point was Dain that when you come in and say that you are discouraged because Vicky hasn't received her visa in a week it DOES in fact make the people who are still waiting to just get their NOA2 extremely frustrated....I know this because I talk to them OUTSIDE this thread. As I said it's not that people aren't happy for you...we are! And if you read the thread I stated that within the post! But it just makes the people still waiting for their NOA2 feel even more discouraged to see so many people moving forward and they are stuck. This forum is for everyone and I feel along with others that you need to keep how far you are in the processes in mind when you post your grievences.

I'm not complaining...I know about the wait. I know that we probably won't be having our interview until April. We made plans to get married in June because I had done the research I knew how long it would probably take. I have spent those 4 months this year with my fiance because to us it was very important to have that time. We didn't want to get married after spending so little time together. We wanted to KNOW for sure without it being any sort of honeymoon phase. To each their own. People have to make decions about how important it is to spend time with their partner....There was time that I didn't have vacation but I took the time without pay because I wanted to spend it with him. That's our choice.

The rest of us get asked when our partner will be here too....EVERYDAY. When are you getting married? When is John going to be here? You guys have to wait 3 or 4 months for him to get here now? Does he get to stay? Its the process Dain...it's what you signed up for. I will be with him at his interview..why??? Because it's IMPORTANT! Will he get to come home with me? Probably not because most people take at least a week to get their visa so once again I will be waiting but that's because I know this from the beginning!

So in saying that....GET A GRIP! You are entitled to your say as I'm entitled to mine. She'll be here before you know it and then you can move on to the AOS thread and not have to be so irritated with this one :)

I'm not irritated by this thread, I'm not the one flaming anyone.

I have expressed my gratitude over and over to the people on this forum and especially in this thread.

My post in no way was meant to compare. Just to show empathy that yes, it is frustrating watching others who were approved after you get their visas days before you do. Pretty much the opposite of what you're assuming. Yes, it's nowhere near as frustrating as still waiting for the NOA2, I never claimed it was. I'm just trying to show support and empathy by relating and sorry, but I can only relate from the position I am in, and it is still extremely frustrating even at this point, and to me even more at this point than at any other point in my journey because it's so close but still living in limbo.

Yes, I fully knew the process and it took me 9 months to reach the decision to go through it, as you can see from my signature. If it took as long as Kizza's I'd be seriously considering selling my stuff and moving to a different country to be with my fiance. I think months ago I posted if it wasn't done by March I was planning on relocating, so yes I can relate very much to the feelings and emotions of those still struggling with the process, even if I was fortunate enough to get through it more quickly because of the rarity of my name and the ease of scheduling at the embassy I'm going through.

Let's keep it supportive and not personally attack, right? Get a grip she says...

You can look at it as "he's approved he's making us feel bad we're not yet", or as "he's approved there's hope for us to be too".

I still stand by the fact I didn't bail on my friends made in this thread the moment I got through the process and instead stayed and tried to support and show empathy to those still going through it. That's all I'm trying to do, if you don't see it sorry.

I still don't like you personally calling me out and flaming me, I never flamed you for being able to see your fiance during the months waiting for the NOA2. Everyone's situation and timeline is different, some of us are more or less fortunate for different reasons. If my approval bothers people who aren't approved yet, don't you think bragging about all the time you got to spend with your fiance wasn't bothering people with fiances who weren't from VWP or reciprocity countries? Is there a difference? (It didn't bother me btw, I was happy for you)

 Play nice, everyone...... I pray for everyone to make it through intact..mentally, financially, and relationship-wise. Don't lose the faith that we all had in early September, we've been through too much together.

BTW congrats on your approval!!!! I can imagine how frustrating it may be for you. My fiance is from Mexico, but I only got to see him 3 times in the past year all totaling to about 3 weeks, and we have a 15 month old baby that I have been raising with the help of my parents. We didn't have the money for more trips, it just wasn't an option. So I am very happy that you are only a small step away from finally being with your honey. We have an interview coming up as well, and I really hope I too will have some good news to post soon..

My fiance received a letter from the embassy saying that he has to call and make an appointment for medical and interview. Is that the packet 3? i thought he has something to fill out. But he said there's only 1 page & there's no form to fill out. Is that right?

You should post in the Philippines sub-section you'll get a lot more help and accurate information, everything at this point is very embassy-specific. That is correct, your fiance can set their appt. via the pay-per-call phone number now and should attend their medical. You don't need an appt. for the medical you just show up. The will either need the copy of the letter they just received, a copy of the interview email confirmation, or a copy of the NVC letter and the NOA2 to attend the medical. Best of luck to your interview!
