Waiting for NVC and Interview

I have aquestion for you do you think from the dates in my timeline we are going in I-130 fast?? or it's slow or normal or what because I really don't know !!and did every one here who applied for I-130 applied for K3 or not????

I-130's in general are mostly all being processed now in a much much faster time. Ours eg was approved through VSC in 42 days so we opted against the K-3. Admittedly our process through NVC has been much slower then it should of been but that was our choice not of NVC's doing. The NVC process can take 2-3 months or more depending on whether Jame's Shortcuts or the timesavers are used or not. It also depends on if one gets stuck in a security check or if there is RFE's. The I-130 will get you the green card with the CR-1 with no adjustment of status on entry to the US and there is no applying for EAD etc. What you also should consider is if there is different wait times for interview between the K-3 and CR-1. Some embassies there is. You also should weigh up how important having the green card is compared to the months and months with adjusting status. Depending on the Local Office you will go through to adjust status, it can even take years.

Oh now I understand I went to the link you gave me that was really helpful ..so from what I read I can use the number of NOA2 and call th eNVC and get a case number ..I think this is the next step right???

Yes you can call the NVC automated number and use the NOA receipt number. It will then give you your case number if one has been assigned already. It will also tell you if the DS-3032 Choice of Agent and AOS (I-864) Bill has been generated and sent out yet. If you look at the Flowchart, the petitioner will receive a copy of the DS-3032 and the AOS Bill, the beneficiary will receive the DS-3032. There is a few ways you can deal with the DS-3032. 1. The petitioner can fax or email a copy of the DS-3032 to the beneficary where it can be completed and forwarded to the address on the instructions. 2. An email can be sent direct to the NVC as stated in the link that I gave you, you dont have to wait for the form to be delivered. 3. You can wait for the form to arrive to you, the beneficiary and then mail it off.

Most make the USC petitioner the Choice of Agent when the beneficiary's country is somewhat distant as this does save a lot of time in international posting.

Interview Date : May 18th

WHooooo Hooooooo !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Thank you God sooo much for granting me this interview that Ali and I have been thinking about 24/7 for the last 7 months. Thank you Congressmen Jerry Lewis for kicking some *** and getting our interview date set.

So here's the story :

My brother walked into my room and saw me on VJ. He said "instead of reading about other peoples cases why don't you call and check up on your own ?" I said "They said they don't know till the 14th" He said "just call". So I called and they told me that the case was forwarded to Beirut on April 4th ... I hung up cuz I was too damn excited. I started running through my house screaming " Al hamdullah !!!!!" I found my family outside they asked "Well when is the date ?" I said "ohhhhhh I forgot to ask because I was soo excited". I tried to call back and couldnt get through. I called Ali and woke him up at 4 a.m. to tell him he too went ballistic. He was like "Who cares when the date is ... at least we have what we've been dreaming for !!!"

So after talking to him for an hour about our dreams about when he'll come and etc. I called again and was able to speak to an operator. After he told me the date and time I said "God bless you. You have made me the happiest girl in the entire world". He said the packet 4 should be arriving in the mail anytime and I need to send it to him ASAP. It has the medical papers and reciept for the interview.

I told my parents the same I will tell you all know " Thank you for putting up with me throughout the hardest months of my life so far ... I really appreciate it" If I complained or whined it was because there was no light at the end of my tunnel. Now the light is soooo bright I can't hardly type right !!!!

looking at your timeline your I-130 was approved at service center on March 10. Has it reached NVC and do you have a case number yet from NVC. The details you have provided seem to be from the service center and it is the NVC details that are used in this particular list.

If you havent gotten your NVC number yet, have you called the automated number to find out if a case number has been assigned?
