DS-3032. What exactly is an agent?

ON one of the guidelines, upon filing a DS-3032 form I read this

After the applicant selects an agent, the NVC will send the immigrant visa processing fee bill to the agent. Note: The agent does not need to be an attorney.

Exactly, what is the agent being referred here? Would i need to hire an attorney to process the Affidavit of Support properly?

Much help is needed.

nm, i found the answer to this question. I guess the better question is, when do you email NVC your choice of agent? Is there some kind of approval notice, that will contain directions on how to do so?

You can Email the choice of agent the moment you are able to get the NVC Case numner from NVC... Keep checking the NVC number once you receive the NOA2.

You should also be aware that the K3 visa process does not include a choice of agent. That's for the CR1 or IR1 process.

Facts are cheap...knowing how to use them is precious...
