Good point Derek. I have all new things to consider now. I wonder if I can still go to the bowl game? I guess we'll just have to wait and see on that one.

Liz who doesn't want to start their day with a fistful of drugs. I can think of noone. !

No worries, Maire! You just do what you have to and get those finals done!!! We'll still be here when they are over! Good luck!

Thank you Maire. It was about time though. I am so relieved and now excited. I can't wait. I understand about finals. At least the semster is almost over.

Liz what time do you go home?

I was so worried about how difficult the holidays were going to be and having my girls by my side is going to make it much much easier. Once again thanks all of you for helping keep my spirits up. I don't think I could have made it through this process without you.

I don't get to go home until my 3pm....blegh!

I know what you mean....I don't think I'd have made it if Pat hadn't been able to come over in time for the holidays! I'm so glad that your girls will be there by then though! I'm sure they will LOVE their first Christmas in America!!!!! Pat is loving all the cool decorations and putting up lights outside and all the fun traditions we have...lol! It's going to be a glorius Christmas!

Derek - Did you file an I-693 with your AOS paperwork? If so, did you have a local Civil Surgeon sign it? There is some debate going on here on the AOS forum regarding this Dr. Arnold guy from Texas who is willing to sign them without seeing you in person. I'm thinking of going ahead and starting to contact local CS's to see what they charge.

Hugs, Liz

Yes Liz.. The I-693 is the medical exam. Inoculations and and a quick check-up. I would find the civil surgeon in your area and go there. Pat should not require many shots if any at all. The I-693 is required and will be sealed when you send it. If the seal is broken have to get another one. I paid about $160 for two shots and the check-up.

Ok...just curious...why did Maria have another exam? According to the USCIS site, if you file AOS within 1 year of your K1 medical exam you don't have to get another one. I've just found a list of the local CS's and will start calling to see what they say. Thanks for sharing your info!!!

She had the tetanus done before she arrived. Had to get the MMR for the I-693. Bring your med record to the CS and they will tell you what you need. I found them to be helpful and friendly.

Our was about $160. He will need a new blood test and a general check up before the CS will sign off the I-693.

Here is the link

http://www.visajourney.com/forums/index.ph...mp;page=k1k3aos

I-693, Medical Examination of Aliens Seeking Adjustment of Status. If you are a K-1, K-2, K-3 or K-4 visa holder the I-693 instructions state that you are not required to have another medical examination as long as your Form I-485 is filed within one year of your overseas medical examination. Regardless of if you are exempt from a medical exam, you are still required to complete certain portions of the I-693 and have a Civil Surgeon certify the form (and seal it in an evelope). Specifically, you will complete Part 1 (Information about you) of the I-693 and provide both the form and your DS-3025 (if you have it, proving your vaccination history) and any proof of required vaccinations that were completed prior to entering the US. If you do not have a copy of your DS-3025 you will need to provide sufficient evidence of your vaccination history to the Civil Surgeon (talk to the civil surgeon's office to discuss what vaccination records they accept as proof). If you do not have proof of your vaccination history the Civil Surgeon may insist on re-administering all the required vaccinations prior to completing the I-693. Once the Civil Surgeon has has verified that all required vaccinations have been performed, they will complete form I-693 Part 2 (the vaccination section) and Part 5 (the Civil Surgeon's Certification). They will then seal the form in an envelope and return it to you.

Ok...still not sure about needing that checkup...according to what you quoted here, he shouldnt. Now the problem I've discovered...we don't think we have a copy of the DS-3025....
