ok beth. when does his french residency card expire again?

it sounds like the consulate is basically saying...it is what it is and just come and interview, end of story...nothign else they'll do.

If they can get the visa same day, will it be an issue with his french card?

((((Beth)))) try to think about getting well and some rest today. Worry about this tomorrow.

"you fondle my trigger then you blame my gun"

Timeline: 13 month long journey from filing to visa in hand

If you were lucky and got an approval and reunion with your loved one rather quickly; Please refrain from telling people who waited 6+ months just to get out of a service center to "chill out" or to "stop whining" It's insensitive, and unecessary. Once you walk a mile in their shoes you will understand and be heard.

Thanks!

Sounds good to me Beth! Just ignore their rudeness and wait for the interview, I think everything will be fine. I know ur concern though because I think they do ask for the card when u leave at the airport and I don't know if it matters or not. You could maybe contact the airline although I don't know if they would be able to help or not

Hi Lisa, card expires Nov. 6th. Like Kenza said, she thinks they ask for his card at airport when he leaves, so when they see it expired, what will they do kick him out of France? LOL okay kick him out, he is at airport catching flight to USA, know what I mean.

I emailed the embassy , lets see what they say, for now, Im doped up on antibiotics, and feeling sleepy, respiratory infection, so Im off to dream land. Night ladies, thank you, cyber hugs to all((((((((((((((()))))))))))))))))

Truly happy!!!

New life, new adventures, and a new attitude.

Beth...so sorry to hear that...wish I knew how to help. That is so rude of that woman...really? I mean this a very important event, she should take the time to talk to him! So there isn't any possible way he could have his residency card extended until the day of his interview...I'm sure you've already talked about that or already tried that. Hopefully the embassy will get back to you in the morning or your hubby can talk to someone else first thing tomorrow. I'm praying for ya Beth!!!

I know Amanda, call was short , quick , and to the point. Anyways, in the email I sent them, I told them French immigration wants a statement from embassy, stamped my the embassy of his interview date. I had the interview letter translated into French, but they wont accept it, then said could be a fake, Oh come on!!!, anyways, I asked if they could write a statement in French, did not hurt to ask anyways.

Gesh, do they understand about his card?? funny, they told him for us not to pay the K3 fee, its been terminated, just show up for the CR1 interview. She told him all fees have been paid for the CR1, "yeah we know"

We NEVER got a request or ANYTHING from embassy on the K3 at all.

I dont know what to think, hopefullly they will answer my email tomorrow or Friday. Honestly, I dont have the strength to deal with this, Im sick as a dog, fever, coughing lungs out, I feel like death warmed over. Think I will lay down for a while. Thanks Amanda, hugs.

Awww Beth...I do hope you get an answer soon & get better fast!!! Stress won't help you get better, trust me..I got sick too when I was away from my hubby and being stressed made it last longer because my body wasn't strong...so hang in there!

hubby should call them again and clarify the resident card issue and probably with french authorities as well...but hopefully it all works out either way

Timeline:

Sent in I-130 form: 01/29/09

Interview Date: 11/08/09 (APPROVED!)

Visa in Hand: 11/12/09

POE: 01/30/10 (!!!!) at JFK Airport in NYC... can't wait!

Got the green card maybe 8 weeks after 01/30/10...

Jackie - you gotta do what you gotta do.

Well, folks, I'm in a pickle and still too stunned and sorting it all out at the same time. I hate to say something but not ... too much ... but, darn it, this is tough.

:choosing words carefully:

How much faith do you have in the decisions the Embassy makes? Really. There are people who get visas and, as it turns out, weren't honest about their intentions. There are also people who were honest and didn't get visas. Regardless of the circumstances, it's still the government (actually) that makes desicison. How comfortable do you, as experienced VJers, feel about the decisions they make, whether they fell in your favor (meaning, SO/spouse/child/etc. makes it through the immigration gauntlet) or a bad person was kept out? Would you say those decisions are good decisions based on sound reasoning, in general?

I will tell you all this because I feel like I owe you something, I really do not feel like I can spend one more day in Egypt. Nope. No way. Not that life again.

(F) My opinion...they are human like all of us and able to make mistakes. I'm sure 90 percent of the time, they are accurate...however, again, human and we all make mistakes.

Hugs babes! (F)

Im with Annie on this one. I think they are fallible humans but they are also trained to "see" things that maybe we dont. So ya, somewhere in the 90%'s accuracy maybe.

Im sorry for your situation, whatever it is thats going on... you can feel free to share or talk or whatever ya need (F)

I agree with above. I think it becomes very tricky when the fraud is 1 party (immigrant) and the consulate has just cause to believe so. I am sure the consulates receive a fair share of very angry USC calls who are unaware they are being played.
