Hi guys... me again with yet another question. hah.

with the DS-230, you do just send part 1 in first, right? I'm assuming part 2 is used later.

no, not usually... part II is for immigrant visas not usually used for "K" visas

YMMV

On the check list of documents needed page, did they mentioned DS230? Usually, they are reserved for immigrant visa, and I see where you category is KI.

Hi, I don't know about other Embassy branches, but at the US Embassy in New Delhi, India the K1's are treated like immigrant visa due to the intent to immigrate. My fiance was required to sign the ds-part II at the time of his interview in 2008.

Also, you don't send it in with ds-part I.

hi there....Upon checking on the instructions I would suggest that u have to check those bold, underlined, colored links u see. This will lead u to knowing additional information on required documents which maynot be stated outright on the checklist...link such as RECIPROCITY BY COUNTRY  .In my case, from the instruction itself it says there that applicant completes ds 230 forms, and signs up part 1 only at this time. The signing up of part 11 will be at the time of interview....therefore,both forms are submitted yet part 11 is without signature . I do hope this helps u.Goodluck!

DS-230 pertains to the consular interview stage of the K-1 process - moving to Embassy and Consulate Discussion

Improved USCIS Form G-325A (Biographic Information)

Form field input font changed to allow entry of dates in the specified format and to provide more space for addresses and employment history. This is the 6/12/09 version of the form; the current version is 8/8/11, but previous versions are accepted per the USCIS forms page.
