i wish the senator would be able to help us but 1 i cant call him, 2 our i130 isnt even approved yet, 3 george was just deported in jan and needs a waiver...............oh how i wish that we wont be seperated. george wants me to go when they go because he is afraid to lose his job because if things stabalize it will be so hard to find another one. he works in a safe area but is afraid to leave me alone. i dont want to leave him.

not getting much sleep, about 6hrs in 3 days. i am going to have post traumatic stress disorder for sure when its all over, jm was right about that! and im sinking further and further into depression. i cant breathe, i cant keep food down, my blood pressure is up and i have a constant migrane. its killing me. but i know if we were seperated my symptoms could be worse.

Please keep all of us in this situation in your thoughts and prayers.

Jess I really hate this is happening to you! :crying: I don't understand what you're going through because I have never been in this situation and I'm not going to claim to understand.

The only thing I would say is, I understand you don't want to leave your husband there but please remember your child. If you're given a way out I hope you'll take it because your child needs you. You can't be any help to your child or your husband if you're injured or worse :(

At least if you get out and back home safely, even if they won't let him accompany you, you can work here to get that waiver and hopefully find him a way out too. I pray everything works out and you and everyone there stays safe.

Jess hang in there. Where are on 2 opposite sides here. Your in the middle of it all with your husband and I'm here worrying to death wanting to be with him. Stay safe.

I had such a bad migraine Saturday night, I was up all night crying, tried to take medication, but it did absolutly nothing. This is all so unbelievable. Try to get a hold of your senator. They can help even if you are not approved yet. They can put pressure to move your paperwork through. These are special circumstances.

well.....today is another day....same things. i have my passport back in my hands now thank God. We werent able to make it to the bank yet. the land road we planned to take if we left my land was destroyed today. my husband wants me to go when they evacuate. we are calling this 'my vacation' and God willing we will be back together as soon as virtually possible. i love my husband more then life itself, but at his request for my safety i will go. he can concentrate on keeping himself safe, without having to try and worry about keepimg me safe as well. he will hopefully go stay with his brother so he isnt alone, except in times he is using the internet, God willing there is still power, to talk with me daily. as long as the phone lines remain up we will talk on the phone every few hrs just a short hello and im okay. this is the hardest possible decision i have ever made in my life. I believe in my heart we will be reunited soon. we are soul mates and soul mates never stray the hearts for very long, regardless of how. please continue to pray for all involved in this, and pray that this is the right choice we are making. thank you for the continued thoughts and prayers.

Have you heard any specifics of evacuation? On the news they're reporting they have a cruise ship guarded by a warship to fairy americans out of Lebanon.

For the others who have family there, are you guys holding up ok? Everyone still doing ok?

Just my 2 cents, but I think you're doing the right thing. Although not to your extent, I was somewhat in your shoes when I left Egypt (sans war) and I know what you are feeling. You will survive this, George will survive this, and you will both cherish each other even more. You are in my prayers.

Jessngeorges,

You have been very brave throughout this horrible situation, and so very supportive of your SO. I understand completely your hard decision to now try to return to the US. It was best for me to remain in the West Bank until the situation eased, but I did not have a child to worry about. You do. This changes everything.

Unfortunately, the U.S. has not gotten many Americans out yet, and (I am sorry to say) does not seem to be trying very hard. As you know, there is some kind of plan to helicopter people out from the Embassy grounds to a cruise ship, which will be then escorted out by a Naval carrier.... but at last report, less than 100 Americans have been evacuated so far.... and most of them are Embassy employees or other U.S. government personnel and their families. I don't see how ferrying by helicopter is going to bring thousands of people out quickly, especially if the situation deteriorates further. And Israel has refused requests for any temporary cease fire to allow such an evacuation to proceed faster. Tellingly, there is apparently little or no pressure from Washington to induce Israel to change its mind.

However, many Americans have been able to take the back roads out to Syria, which is easing restrictions on the movement of U.S. citizens and others who wish to leave Lebanon. We have a 17-year-old boy from my city who was able to escape with his family in this way -- took them less than 2 days to get back to Texas from Beirut, including air travel from Damascus. This is an alternative you might want to consider, depending on the latest reports from the ground.

Again, my thoughts and prayers with you and your family, and all the innocent victims being terrorized in this madness. God keep you all safe in this terrible time.
