I'm disappointed in you and others. As USC's it is our duty to defend our rights this is including freedom of speech and it is a journalist job to also be that watch dog for the citizens. This site may be privately owned but it is not beyond the reach of our Constitution, especially when it involves USC's and is a visa based immigration site designed to help them bring their SO's here.

Olivia I don't know why you are on and on about journalism. I'm an accountant so I could give a flying ** about journalism in here. If you're so into freedom of speech though, then as much as you think you have a right to post up your mena man like a hunk of meat sold off at an auction, I have just as much right to protest that since it's just gross. Nothing at all to do with Islam for me, just in general makes me wanna hurl when I see women decorate pics of their man and describe how "hot" they are. blech.

And that's your right and it's my right to respectfully dispute that tone as the postings we not distasteful or half naked like a hunk of meat and the people participating wanted to respectfully share their self decorated pictures. It became distasteful when Alpha started posting half naked hunks and using the photobucket editor as a mockery.

Considering this is Ramadan in the home stretch it's probably best to refrain from this topic for now as people still have 10 days left ending around the 19th of September and return to it after the feast or EID holiday which is 3 days later when they are feeling better. When people are hungry they get more aggravated and angry.

I just think its false to say that the whole HAC debate was about Islam. yes, that was a vocal part of it but as I recall there were MANY people who found it, if not offensive, at the very least in poor taste for a wide range of reasons that went way beyond religion. and the thread itself was certainly not begun as a cute little photobucket game - it was started because people were proud of how hot their men were and wanted to show them off.

lets face it, if we opened the phillipines forum and found a thread titled HOT PHILLIPINA THREAD going on and on about now hot all the new wives are, I can guess Olivia that you would be one to find that fairly sexist and distasteful as would many others. I know I would.

what I DO find odd now is that what are we, two years out now? and we are completely rehashing this and pretty much taking it from the top. Olivia, I mean this with kindness, but really its time to get over it. Not everyone is ever going to see it your way and agree with you no matter how many times you try to explain yourself and in the process you end up making yourself look foolish like a dog with a bone it just cant drop.

I am against this. Not because he is putting the filipina above us, but because it makes their wives look like a possession, rather than a respected wife. I didn't really participate in the Hot Arab club thread, and not because of Islam, but because I don't view that as respectful to my husband. But that is just me.
