My Birth Certificate name is sadakath and as per my passport the name is sadhakat.. spelling mistake.......... but all other details such as Date of birth, Fathers name, Mothers name its same as per my passport in birth certificate.. the only issue is on my name the Alphabet H coming in last in birth certificate and in passport Alphabet H coming in between and not at the last................

I wish to know is this gonna affect my immigration process at NVC.........................................Your suggestions pls

Hi sama.

If you were from the Philippines, I think we'd be able to offer some suggestions.

I would imagine that NVC would want to see consistency between your Birth Certificate (which is your most basic and most important proof of your identity) and the rest of your official documents (e.g. passport, school records, professional certification documents, etc.)...or else they may request for an RFE.

You should get in touch with the appropriate body (similar our Local Civil Registrar's Office)...the way I see it, your options are to either amend your other official documents to match your birth certificate...or to amend your birth certificate to match your other official documents...here in the Philippines, we would secure an affidavit of discrepencay to show that the person whose name appears on the birth certificate is the same person as the one whose name appears on the passport, birth certificate, etc.

Also, it would be helpful to the NVC I suppose if you listed all the possible combinations or spellings of your name on the G-325 you sent. If you didn't, then perhaps you can expect to be contacted for an RFE...or worse, administrative processing or additional processing.

Try posting your question in your regional forum too...your peers may have some other suggestions more appropriate to your region.
