K3 vs IR1

I was trying to decide myself if i was going to file an I-129F after I mailed my I-130 petition. But I was under the impression that K3 visas were created in order to get your spouse and children to the US faster while waiting for the I-130 to be approved at USCIS. So what I wanted to ask is: does it make a difference (in terms of processing speed) to choose either to pursue your IR1/CR1 or K3 if both were already approved at USCIS? Or am I mistaken and that K3 visas process faster than IR1/CR1's at NVC and at the Embassy??

After reading everything looks like the K3 is still faster to enter the US, but then takes longer to have the regular rights to work and everything.. And in my case, I have to wait, because Im the beneficiary, and Im the one who will have to provide for the family, so now theres no doubt for me...

But let's wait for answer by people who are a little more experienced in this :)

K3s may process faster through NVC but it's up to the consulate when they schedule the interview (depends on how many cases they have already).

I'd recommend going after the immigrant visa (CR1 or IR1 depending how long you have been married) as those couple of weeks of wait time will be greatly beneficial once you enter the US with visa that turns to temp GC until you get the real GC and you skip all the Adjustment of Status processing and paying additional $$$.

I think most important thing is the possibility to work ASAP...

Then if the i129f gets approved way earlier than the I130, then I guess its better to go that way...

K3's USED to be much faster when CR1/IR1's were taking a year to process. They process in the same amount of time now (save the NVC step).

And even NVC is starting to take longer for many K-1s and K-3s as they are pulled into "random" AP...
