howdy all, no news for me today, but here to give a quick update on the 8 petitions that were still left in initial review for VSC 9/24. Finally some movement on 1 - though a negative one. The one petition whose status changed actually got denied. It's the first one i've seen denied and it seems weird that it wouldn't have gone to RFE first. Anyone know why a petition would get denied instead of first requesting more evidence? Just curious...

I found one of the numbers on my mini watch list as denied too...(I became a normal person for a while then started back up on the checking consecutive numbers again.. whatcha gonna do when you get obsessed?? ) I wondered if maybe they hadn't met in the prior 2 years or if the petitioner had an unacceptable background check. I couldn't think of another thing that would send it straight to denial.. But what do I know? I am pretty green around here..

Was just looking in the main forum and there is a thread there from someone who just got a denial letter.. denied because of a lack of signature. It must not have been the I-129F or they would have just sent the whole package back and not accepted it. Something wasn't signed.. so they denied it. I would think they would just give an RFE for that.. so maybe there is something more to it than the person thinks.

If we're thinking of the same post, her petition wasnt actually denied. She read it wrong, the letter said her petition "could not be accepted", and it was returned with the uncashed cheque... It seems like she can just double-check everything making sure it is signed and send it back.

Same one.. just went back and read through the rest of the thread. I knew there had to be something more to it if her petition had actually been denied.

i don't know what's up...VSC seems to be slowing down and that's flipping me out a bit...there's been barely any movement on the remaining ones for 9/24 in days...i hope we're not all stuck somewhere collecting dust...though i don't know how anyone would be able to misplace mine...it's so huge!!

I am sure you will have an awesome time. :) i'm trying to figure out the next time i will see jose luis...i always makes me feel better when i have a date i can count down to, even if it's a while away. but right now there's so many question marks about the timing for the visa and interview etc... i'm bummed we can't spend this christmas together but hopefully by next christmas we will be married and living together finally - and hopefully all of you will be too! :)

Very envious of you! I was supposed to be leaving on a trip, to Turkey, tomorrow.. but trip was canceled. Won't be able to get there until our interview.. whenever that is! DOS still says our file has not reached Turkey. I wish they would just update their systems, so I could get an exact date.. I know it's there, but not sending packet #3 until we have official word that it is there.

i know...i feel so bad for the person who has to go through mine...i'm hoping that don't have to catalog everything or anything like that! i tried to be super organized so they could easily find what they need. but maybe i should have sent some homemade cookies in the package for my adjudicator for all their troubles!

Kayla, if NVC still says they don't have it can't you call USCIS to see if it has been mailed out yet?

It seems so strange that it's not there yet.. then again, maybe it is there and gone.. and THEY haven't updated their systems yet either!

Not that I want to turn you into ANOTHER monster phone call maker.. but I say call USCIS

Oh .. and I feel really bad for Montreal when you have word it has been sent to them. They better install a phone line just for you :)

Love Montreals little heart. They just don't know what's coming to them when I get unleashed. Poor, poor montreal. They'll probably kick Mathew out of Canada just to make me stop calling. Deliver him with a big ole bow on his head. Wouldn't that be nice!!!

I'm gonna call USCIS when I get to work.

HI, this is my first time here. I wish I came here for info when I first started researching the process and getting the wheels moving a year ago!

Based on the timelines I am seeing and my own experience, it seems like the VSC has been speeding up considerably from the beginning of the year until now. I mailed my petition on 9/24/09, received my NOA1 on 10/6/09, and just received my email NOA2 approval on 11/3/09! I am shocked and pleasantly surprised that NOA1->NOA2 took *less than a month* ... I was expected 3-4 months.

I think that Packet 3 and beyond, however, may slow down because Indonesia is pretty slow in general when it comes to mail and processing times.

Hi! Welcome to our little family.. now you can join in stressing out with the rest of us :)

Is 10/6 the day you received the hard copy of your NOA1 in the mail or is that the actual date it was issued? It seems strange that you would have had 12 days between sending the petition in and NOA1.

Many of us were very lucky, and got the NOA2 in a very short time. Still waiting and watching for a few here.. but I have a really good feeling about this week!
