So it's official!!! Mathew and I are moving to Fort Wayne, IN! He got the job offer today and he starts on May 9th. So we have a lot to get done in a short amount of time, but we're so happy that it's finally happened for him.

Only thing that bothers me though, is that this is the first time I'm moving out of mom's house and I'm terrified. Yeah, I went to college but it's not the same, because this was still my home. When I move to Indiana I'm going to be out on my own for the first time and it'll be 7 hours away. :(

That's super amazing! Congratulations to him! If it helps, I think your fears are justified. It is scary to move out the first time!

On our front - we got his biometrics done, and now we're waiting. A bunch of the other Feb11 filers have gotten interview dates, and there's at least one that's already gotten their green card. Maybe we should have done an early walk in for biometrics, even though they (our office) really dislike it when people do that. :( He's getting depressed due to lack of activity, and we had our first really, really REALLY major fight the other day (though it wasn't over jobs or lack thereof).. I don't even know. :/

Wow, congratulations. Its about time :dance:

OMG, I would be terrified too. And 7 hours away??? Ouch

I don't know why I thought you were further along, like already did your biometrics.

Frenzy, I'm sure we'll all agree that we've all had really big fights so don't worry about it too much. As long as at the end of the day you two sit and discuss the problem because arguing will not solve whatever problem it was. Good luck

Thanks everybody. I'm starting to feel a lot better, I think it was just the initial shock of everything. We are in fort Wayne now and we just signed a lease on an apartment. I'm sooooo excited and can't wait to build our life together. Whooooo.

How much longer until little krystle Jr is born? Can't be too many more months now.

No, I'm quitting AT&T and I'm going to take a much needed break. I'll finish this semester of school before I start looking for another job.

We picked up our keys today and we are moving on Monday. It's all happening so fast but we love it!!!

You deserve the break, Kayla! I'm so thrilled for you and Mathew!

I'm going a little bonkers waiting for his GC, lol... lots of others are getting EAD and AP, and some have green cards or interviews... and ours just sits there. BLAH! It'd be nice to get it, and him find a job, so we can finally move past this chapter in our life and actually start living. We want our own place so badly, and part of me wants to just up and move to another city or another state or something. It's not that I want to be away from my family, but it'd be exciting to live somewhere new... does that make any sense?

Awww, that's sad. You are important!!!! If I were there, I would definitely go! I hope you have an amazing shower anyways! So excited for the little guy to be born! Hehe :D

We got his EAD/AP combo card in the mail today! He's got a few places that he's going to apply for, so hopefully he'll be working soon! I'm contemplating switching to the overnight crew, too, so maybe we'll actually get to see each other during the day. I have to talk to HR tomorrow, but I can't see why they wouldn't let me, especially since they are looking for full time overnights.

Take care, everyone!

Sorry I haven't been around in a while, I've been so busy with this move I've barely had time to do anything. Everything is going better than I expected, it's not been too hard on me so far. I'm loving the town so far, everything is so pretty and there's tons of stuff to do. I still have a bit of stuff we haven't unpacked yet but since it's all of Mathews junk I'm just going to shove it into his little room and let him deal with it. I've cleaned, unpacked, cleaned more, and put this place together enough to deserve a little break! Oh, and did I mention that my in-laws have been here for a week? Yeah, that's been fun. Realll fun.

Krystle, I'm sure you'll have the most awesome baby shower in the world. You know your VJ crew would be there if we had the chance. :) You're a very special lady and your little man is going to be the most loved baby any parent could have. I can't wait until he's here!!!

Hope everyone is doing well!

Hi everyone,

Just thought I would stop by and see what's going on. I miss being on here, but like everyone else I get so busy it's hard to find time to be here every day like we used to be.

KRYSTLE...the other day I thinking about all my predictions. Didn't I predict you would be the first to have a baby? I haven't gone back to look, but I think so. KAYLA... I predicted you were second, so you better watch out girl!!

Things have been going well for us. Today is one year since my surgery and I have been cancer free for 8 months ... so things are finally getting back to normal.

Kayla, wondering how things are with you and if you are enjoying your new life in your new city :)

Oh...just to get all your minds thinking... can you believe Fuat and I only have 10 1/2 months to go before we have to start filing for removal of conditions :) This is going to go by fast. I'm not sure, but I think we are the first of us to have to do it... at least the first of us still on here.

HOpe everyone is doing well.. and Krystle you are in my thoughts almost every day now. The time is coming soon MOMMA!

SO MUCH has happened for us! I'll just bullet it!

  • I didn't end up getting the overnight position.
  • In fact, after the 20th, I won't be working there anymore. Lots of reasons went into this decision. Planning to try and find something closer to my home/school
  • Matt's green card was approved, and showed up yesterday!
  • We went to get his license today, fully expecting him to have to take the written and driving test. Canada is apparently 1 of 2 countries that they allow simple exchanging of licenses... so all he had to do is get his picture taken and voila! He's licensed... which is good becauseeeee.......
  • Matt got a job! He filled out all of one application, and was filling out the question survey, and they called him for an interview. I feel a little guilty about this, since i know others here have tried for ages to get a job. Anyways, he's still working in lawn care, which is good, because that's what he has (6 years) of experience in...
  • I managed to do alright in school this semester, despite barely attending and finishing everything at the last minute.

Even though I'm leaving my job, we'll still be okay financially, because I have my financial aid leftovers and he's going to be making more here than he was in Canada.

SO YEAH. Wow. Insanity. GOOD insanity, but still insanity nonetheless.

Krystle's going to have her baby soon (if she hasn't already!) and I'm so, so excited for her! I hope everyone else is doing well, too! <3
