I'm excited for that too! Karen, Kayla? Do you have Green Cards yet? What's going on with you two? Frenzy, glad you got the certificate.

We leave for Turkey on Friday. He's so excited, but I am nervous... and I am afraid he is goign to go and not come back...but I am sure that is a silly fear. I am just praying this goes well.

Wish us luck :)

Hope everyone is well

I, Seb, and AandD are all still waiting. We all filed around the same time. I tried to put in a service request yesterday and was totally shot down. Seb successfully requested one last friday. It's very frustrating. We had to change our travel plans but such is life. We're going to the Dominican in early Dec (good god i can't wait, i desperately need a real vacation!) and hopefully to ecuador at the end of the year. though the flight prices are horrendous so i'm not sure if we can do it. :(

Have a wonderful time in Turkey and try to just enjoy your time with him there and not worry. He loves you!

Well mathew still has a pretty good chunk of money from his last job left and his dad says he's going to give us money to start on. The thing that sucks is that if he were to get a job it would be at LEAST 3 hours away, which would force us to move and wouldn't give us any time to save up before doing so.

Were doing pretty well with what we've got right now, but well probably go insane before we get out on our own. Hes bored and my moms new boyfriend is going to make us both commit murder. I've really never met anyone more annoying in my life, and it's amazing that she doesn't see it. Guess that's love!

So Karen, Seb and A and D filed in June and are still waiting.... Krystle and Kayla filed in July and they are done? Strange... but I guess we saw it with the K1 also.

One more day until we leave on our trip. Feeling really tired, but going to try to relax when we are in Turkey. The day after we get back my Mom comes for thanksgiving.. the day after my mom leaves we get on a plane to Singapore.

I decided to take the other recruiting trip and see how it goes. I've never been to Singapore before, so really wanted to try to make it. If I am tired or get sick.. serves me right :)

I will let everyone know how it goes and will hopefully be able to check in on all of you while I am in Istanbul!!

Just wanted to check in with everybody. I hope everything is going well. Mathew still hasn't heard anything about a job and he's getting more stressed about it. I feel bad for him because there's nothing I can do. He's got a really great degree and lots of recommendations, but the job market is tough. Sometimes I wonder if it wouldn't have been better for me to move to Canada. He had a good job there that paid great money, but he gave it up to move here in hopes that things would be better. Guess we're both just a little discouraged lately. :(

Aww, just have faith and know that it won't be like this for too long. If he gets a job in another state or something, how will that affect your job, can they transfer you to another store? Because maybe it would be better if you guys moved..

That's actually what we've already been doing. He's applied for multiple jobs in other states, even one in Salt Lake City. I've got him signed up on LinkedIn, and apparently it's bad for all engineers right now.

As far as my job, where there's an AT&T, I can transfer. I wouldn't be upset if I didn't get to transfer though. We had talked about me not working for a while at some point and just concentrating on school, but I really love my job. So I dunno what we're going to do, it all just kind of sucks for us right now. It's not that we're hurting financially, we're doing okay there, it's that he's upset and stir-crazy and we've been fighting a bit because we're going nuts still being here in moms house.

This too shall pass, I guess...

Kayla, you aren't the only one wondering if you should have moved to Canada instead of him moving down here. I've been having those thoughts a LOT lately, and it's come to a point where we've decided to go through with the 2 year GC, but at the end of the 2 years, we'll be making our final decision between Canada and the US. He had a pretty decent and stable job up there (by no means the greatest, of course, but better than my pathetic excuse of a "job" down here) and so it's been pretty difficult to admit that maybe we should have thought this out better. Then again, I didn't think things would get as bad as they have. We're so VERY lucky to be living with my parents right now, rent free, but daily survival is getting tougher, simply due to my stupid lack of money. I'm still hunting for better jobs, of course. What's interesting is that I thought about applying at AT&T (they are hiring like MAD here) but when I went to do the application, they talked about all the training/possible traveling for said training, and with school, that's something that I wouldn't be able to do.. so it was back to the drawing board.

I suppose the good news is that I'm almost done with the whole name changing process. I have my new SS card, and am now just waiting for my new DL to show up in the mail. It feels a little weird signing something different, but it's kind of fun, too, hehe.

I hope you all are doing well.

Traveling for training isn't all that bad, it's not like you have to go way far away(depending on where you live you may not have to travel at all). They'll have them at multiple places in your state and for months at a time, giving you the ability to pick which day you're available/want to go. Plus, the company has tuition reimbursement and a really awesome payscale. I'm not sure which job you were thinking of applying for, but the company is great. No where else could I work 4 days a week and make over 20k a year, and I don't even sell anything. I do like inventory, merchandising, and helping out with customers when the store gets busy. I'd at least apply for it, because they're truly awesome about working with employees on school and stuff. One of the girls that was in my wedding(2 out of 3 of my BMs work with me) just graduated from cosmetology school and our manager is basically letting her pick her own schedule so that she can make her hours at the salon at the most convenient days for her.

What is everyone doing for Christmas? I'm at a loss as to what to get him. He mentioned something tonight about a PSP but I'm worried he wont actually play it. Booh.

Just a Part Time retail sales consultant, at least for now. My schedule opens up a bit next semester (3 night classes and random classes on tues/thurs) so working would be a little bit better come that time, lol. (At least I think, anyways) I'm going to go into the store upstairs from my work - which is actually the one I got my phone from - and see what the lady says. I finished the application and submitted it, but didn't do the follow up stuff, so maybe they still have my application somewhere, haha.

As for Christmas, well... not really sure what we're doing, simply due to lack of funds and what have you. We're just working on surviving day to day... but tomorrow is our 5 year anniversary, haha, so we're going to hole up and watch a movie together or something. :D

Just think about the fact that the bad times makes you stronger, you might not want to hear that but it's true...

Christmas? What about thanksgiving??

For christmas I'm not sure because G had a bartending job that he just recently quit because the hours are too long and it's too far away. He has a wknd part time job now and we're currently looking for another job so lets see what will happen by then. I am excited for thanksgiving because last year he wasn't here, this year he's here and next year we'll have our liitle pumpkin with us :star:

You don't get you DL right away??

We used to, but now it's this central issuance type system. They punch a hole in your old card, give you a printed off copy of your new one, and mail you the new one (HOPEFULLY) within 21 days. It's a bit ridiculous if you ask me. You're right, though - normally, that's not something I want to hear, but it's okay. Whether I realize it or not, it does help to hear that every now and then. Things are looking up a little bit more now, and I've been pretty upbeat the last few days. I'm hoping it sticks around for a bit, hehe.

Kayla, remind me what kind of engineer Mathew is? Is he a software engineer?
