Yeah, one is 3 and one is 5 tier .. but also.. one is real/fake roses... the other is cake/frosting made roses it seems? I think the details on the white icing are similar though the second picture is a little smaller so it's hard to tell.

Best of luck to their move...and Congrats on still being smoke free!!!! Hard work is paying off! You should renew your vows!!.. have another honeymoon phase of the relationship too ;)

I thought so too, hmm...

The picture of what she did to it is a lot smaller than the one she posted on her website. The top tier is supposed to have like that glitter sugar stuff and instead it's some kind of weird squiggles. She also told me that she did wonderful icing roses. The roses on the cake were fine, they looked good, but the leaf things were awful. I thought that the tiers were almost the same size as one another and that made the cake look a little weird.

I think it mostly just scares me because other pictures on her website of her cakes aren't that great. There are a few that are pretty, but most of them are lop-sided or look generally just messy. I called and talked to her about the cake and she got very defensive. I wasn't at all hateful or acted like it wasn't pretty, I just gave her some notes on what I wanted my cake to be like, versus the one for the other bride. Needless to say that $135 pricetag was really too good to be true. Her attitude about it was awful. I could really understand a bad attitude if I had acted like a bridezilla but all I did was call her and tell her that I saw the cake and that it was good, but I wanted to make a few changes to the one she was going to do for me.

Knew my wedding plans couldn't be this simple! :bonk:

Going shopping!

Oh wow then thank goodness you changed to someone else because if she can't take criticism then to hell with her and her sloppy cake...

So I FINALLY found something to wear for his graduation!

Oh great!

I didn't work today so I went to go apply for Glenoi's social security card and the man told me that it's already applied for once he comes though immigration

He said it'll come in the mail within 2-3 weeks after he comes, I highly doubt that so I'll go back next week, hopefully I'll get someone different and someone who knows what they're talking about.

I would call or go back for a second opinion. I've never heard of them being automatically ordered when they come through immigration. I would hate to see you waste 2-3 weeks of time if the person you spoke to was making a mistake. Or maybe they were thinking of a different visa???

Oh, and keep an eye on your phone next tuesday. I'll be texting you with some good news. :)

I showed him the passport that clearly says "k-1" so he'd be silly to be thinking of another visa. PLUS I told him how he came to the U.S. so he probably was thinking what he's going to have for lunch.

He was probably thinking Arby's, lol.

Some people are just so incompetent that they'll tell a customer anything to get them off the phone/to leave. Customer Service for AT&T is the worst for doing that. Yesterday they told a customer that he was SHAFTED because we could have let him pay for his phone at $5 a month on his bill. We've never ever ever done that. But because of that jackass on the phone I was stuck at work last night with a crazy man until 9:30. But the funny part was that the guy didn't have his ID so he tells my manager that he can get on the courts website and see his picture because he's a sex offender.

As a heartattack. I had fought with this guy on the phone all day yesterday and then at about 10 minutes til closing he comes walking in, missing half of his teeth and with hair that hadn't been washed in days and freaked out on all of us again.

But one of my maids of honor(I work with 2 out of 3, lol) knew him and she told him that he owed me an apology and sure enough he came walking over like a puppy with his tail stuck between his legs.

My form I sent to the embassy had requested a security number.. so maybe that's why they are assuming it automatically goes through when they come through immigration because it was already noted that the person would like/need one?

So Much to reply to... I am sure I will miss something so forgive me if I miss replying to a post.

The applications ask if we want to request a social security number, but I believe they are only automatically issued for people on certain types of visas.. they are not automatic for K1. I work with the SSA a lot, and I have noticed that they do not always know what they are talking about. On the main guides there is a link that is recommended to be printed and taken with you to social security. It states that a K1 CAN get a Soc. # without having done adjustment of status..Most people have been turned away by SSA because they people think they can't apply until they have residency. My local office told me the same thing when I told my Rep that Fuat would be attending the first application session we are holding for our international employees. I plan on showing them the information from that link. Krystle.. go back... I am sure he is not going to be issued a card automatically.

Kayla.. the picture of the cake you want is gorgeous.. what she made was not even close and I could tell that without enlarging the thumbnails.

Ney.. congrats on still being smoke free.

Seb... we are slipping. That's why we were on the second page :) Either that or we are all just too busy to spend all our time on here now :)

It's now 1:00am and I am waiting to give my "Turkish Wake Up call" in 30 minutes. He has forgotten about our time change... otherwise he would not have asked me to wake him when it is 7:30am for him. Usually wake him when it is 6:00am.. but he is at his uncles tonight, is closer to work so he doesn't have to be up so early... and doesn't have an alarm clock.. so I am bound and determined to make sure I stay awake long enough to make that call.

If he suddenly remembers that we have started Daylight Savings time already he is going to be really upset that he asked me to call him later than normal.. and that I stayed up so late to do it ( Turkey doesn't change their clocks until 3/28)

I've been using the extra "awake" hours to get caught up on some little things around here that I thought I would have to put off until after he was here.. Exhausted from working to get the park open.. and working to get things ready for him.. but it is all going to be worth it in the end :)

Kayla.. just a few days before we are both with our men!! And.. in a few days he will by walking through the door of our home.. and.. I will say, "Honey.. here's the house. Hold on, I have to get on the computer and see how Kayla's interview went." :):)

I will be thrilled to have him finally walk through the door.. but I DO have my priorities :)

I can't get used to this time change AT ALL. I'm seriously still wide awake.

But I've started packing. :) I'm going to Lexington on Friday, spending the night and my Aunt is going to take me to the airport. I always just leave my car at their house. So that means that my packing time is limited to tomorrow and Thursday. I'm the type of person that makes this huge list and has to check everything off at least twice. I don't want to forget anything at all. Especially not any of our paperwork.

Jenn it's almost time for us!!!!! 3 days to go, and 6 until Mathew gets approved and Fuat sees his new home!

morning guys! wow kayla & jenn, you guys are both so close!! i am so psyched for you. :)

krystle - so, how is it having glenoi there? is it difficult or easy to adjust? does it feel like one of your trips or more permanent already?

re: the SSN - yes i'm pretty sure you will not get it automatically. Also I've heard that to be safe you should wait 2 weeks after arrival before going to make sure it is actually in the system. I read that here on VJ, but not sure where.

kayla - good choice on the cake maker switch... ;)

my honey is having an operation today on his nose (well two, one to correct deviated septum and another for something he called "coronetes" in spanish)...he wanted to have everything done health-wise before he came here. It's MUCH cheaper there and they have good doctors. but of course i am so nervous because i can't be there with him! i am hoping his dad will be able to send a message when it is done so i know everything is okay.

AND i am excited because my wii & wii fit is arriving today! now we shall see what all the fuss is about. ;)

ney - i just wanted to say that YOU ROCK! congratulations on still being smoke free, that is just completely awesome. :star:

As you said, the reps usually don't know what they're talking about, I called and explained the situation and the lady is like "whatever immigration told you, that's what'll happen" and I'm like "immigrationn didn't tell him it'll be mailed" and she's like "well that means you didn't bring proper documents to apply for it" and I just hung up because she said she CAN'T verify his eligibility and my patience wore thin.

So I called immigration, that number we used to call to check if we got our NOA2 and the thing would never ask if I need to be connected to an agent and when I press 0, it says it doesn't understand. I'm so p'd off

BTW, did Fuat ever recieve his V'day gift?

Regarding your comment to Kayla: in a few days I'll STILL be with my honey because he's here for good and we won't be booking out of a hotel and crying on the way to the airport. (I just had to say that :star: )
