The fee was included in your AOS application, $80 was part of the $1010

Oh and if you have your SSN # already, bring it with you. They ask you for it, I didn't have it on me

Bring:

  • Original appointment notice(s)
  • Proper I.D. (Passport, DL, etc)
  • Marriage Certificate (if name changed)

That's it (as stated above, you paid the fee with your AOS/part of the $1010) - SS card/number not reqiuired.

yes, biometrics is the easy part of the whole process! You will probably have to leave purse, cell phones, things like that in the car as they are picky about what they allow in.

When you arrive, you will check in with security and show them your letter and your identification. They will give you a clipboard with a questionnaire on it. It is a basic biographical type of questionnaire - and yes, they ask for your SSN number so bring the number with you if you have one. You then line up for the service counter and then hand in your documents and questionnaire at the service counter. They will stamp your letter, write stuff on it, check everything over, check your hands to make sure you don't have anything that would interfere with getting your fingerprints, then hand you a number. You then sit in a waiting area until your number is called. When you are called you go with a technician into an area where they have digital equipment. They will wipe off your fingers and press them against a glass pad. You will see everything that is happening. They will then push lots of buttons (VBG!) and go on to the next finger. Finally, you will be told to stand in front of a screen and they will take your photo.

You can probably be in and out in about half an hour unless there is a large number of people waiting.l

“...Isn't it splendid to think of all the things there are to find out about? It just makes me feel glad to be alive--it's such an interesting world. It wouldn't be half so interesting if we knew all about everything, would it? There'd be no scope for imagination then, would there?”
