Canceling our k1 visa

Well sadly for me this process is ending not on a happy note but with the relationship is over and the visa is over too. A word of caution to all those out there going through this and their fiance not doing there share to get this done and you have to keep reminding them to do stuff constantly. it could be a sign. I should have seen this before when he wasn't doing his share. this put too much stress on the relationship as well as many personal stuff going on. it was more that he wasnt responsible enough or mature to handle this. I was lied to and treated bad the last 2 months, but I'm so glad I know this now and can stay in my own country. I wish everyone the best of luck who are strong enough to make it through this. and thanks for all the advice and answers to questions during this process. I emailed the consulate already but was wondering if i have to do anymore? I just stated i no longer wanted to get married and cancel the visa. Its really tough losing a person you were willing to give up your whole live for and move to another county to be with and to find out all his promises and love were not real. what doesnt kill you makes you stronger. i hope.

Oh, I'm so, so, so sorry to hear this story... Especially when you were so close to actually getting the visa. Wow. It totally broke my heart. But you're right, what doesn't kill you, makes you stronger.

I don't know how to handle the cancelation of the visa. Maybe writing them a letter instead of just e-mailing?

I am so sorry to hear this. But I too am going through similar patterns with my fiance. Our Visa process is reaching its deadline and I still am waiting for his final divorce decree that hasn't gotten here yet. I told him April 28th we needed this.

I am aware of the red flags that are popping up and I will be seeing him this weekend in Greece. We have A LOT TO discuss when I see him.

I am sending you hugs for the strength you need and the difficult decision you had to make.

I can sympathize. I was down that road also before. I am sorry to hear it. I know in my case I found later there was a reason and now I have the most wonderful woman in the world. God loves me to bring her in my life. One word of advice. Dont just send an email send a letter to everyone. USCIS, NVC, and the consolate. You want to KNOW this is cancelled. If in the future you meet that special someone, you dont want this left pending or open in any way. Trust me, that is a stress you dont want.

Awww Michelle… I’m so sorry to hear this. I was wondering why I haven’t seen you around much lately, and was shocked to see your name next to the subject of the thread.

I’m really sorry things didn’t work out for you and Jay, but it sounds like its better you found out about it now, then actually moving to the US, getting married, and finding out about it later.

I'm sorry it didn't work out, but better to find out now than after you sold everything and moved to the US and got married... it's much simpler to cancel a petition than to get a divorce.
