I am wondering what the process is for my fiance, once we are legally married in the US, to start working. We are hoping to get the k1 visa sometime in November of this year. Any help would be much appreciated. Thank you!

Once the K1 visa holder enters the U.S., you will apply to remove conditions, you may want to look at the guild here:

With that application you will send a form I-765, Application for Employment Authorization. Once your fiance(e) receives employment authorization he can work while the adjustment of status is being processed. I believe the general guideline is that it takes 90 days or so to process the I-765.

No, not removing conditions, it's called Adjustment of Status. trailmix gave you the right link, just used the wrong terminology. Once the K-1 visa holder enters the U.S., you have to get married, then apply for the Adjustment of Status. Along with this form, you'll also apply for Employment Authorization Document and Advanced Parole (these two forms are included in the fee for Adjustment of Status). EAD's and AP's are usually processed within 3 months of filing. This will allow you to work and leave the country until you're given a Green Card.
