Tampo: What is the record?

I thnk it started sometime Friday evening when I wanted to go out by myself. I wonder what the record is.

Tampo refers to a range of Philippine cultural behavior in which one may withdraw affection or cheerfulness from a person who has hurt one's feelings.

Because the behavior is rooted in Philippine culture, the term has no precise equivalent in English, though "sulking" or "to sulk" is often considered the closest translation.

when im in my tampo mood my hubby sometimes call me my sulking baby...

I am still trying to figure out what 'that thing' and 'that place' is so dread anything else as complex as 'tampo' coming along :whistle:

Oh, I get it! Tampo...tampon...this isn't geographically specific! All women around the world get this! hehehe (I'm a woman of course)

Our timeline:

2/88: We met in Sydney, Australia at a youth hostel! He's Finnish, I'm American-both were in our early 20s at the time and fresh out of college (so couldn't afford to visit each other's countries after that!). We had a three-day romance, then went our separate ways. He actually was going to Sydney a week later, but decided at the last minute to cut his trip short in another country and go early. Wow.

1988-1998: Wrote "snail mail" letters/sent Xmas cards, but lived our separate lives. I married someone else, divorced in 2006...he lived with someone for years and then that ended.

10/08: Because of a series of random life events, I Googled my Finn Man and found him (but no link to his email, and the website his name was on was in Estonian so I couldn't even read it!). It took me two weeks to find a link to someone else, who forwarded my email to him (we were both single at the time thankfully!!!!). The email went to his spam folder but he happened to check it that day and responded back to me immediately! This was after 10 years of no contact and almost 21 years of not seeing each other after we first met.

11/08-5/09: We traveled back and forth to visit each other. Love at first (second?) sight!

7/09: Married in Helsinki, Finland...after meeting randomly 21 1/2 years ago and finding each other again!!!!!

8/13/09: I-130 sent!!!!!!!!!

Rest is on my timeline!

Hi. This is Mr. Bill's better half. I have planned a perfect birthday celebration for Mr. Bill last Sunday and he was not cooperating. Worse thing is he got sick on his birthday. I wanted to buy him lunch, before going to work that day, but he didn't feel like going out. So I was mad at him!:bonk: Mr. Bill ruined my plans.

I went for a walk this morning and I realized I went that far and I was too tired making the trek all the way back. I was exhausted, starving and I just want to go home and eat something. I really wanted to go and take the bus going to Santa Rosa and have lunch there with my friend, but then I didn't know what time the bus is arriving at the nearest bus stop. So I had to call Mr. Bill to come and pick me up and make lambing for the nth time. But I insisted that he still owe me lunch.

Rocky: "Baby, are they still mad at us on VJ?"

Bullwinkle: "No, they are just confused."

My wife does 'tampo' a lot.

She does forgives me but she never forgets.

She also hold grudges on me though I hold accountable since it's my fault.

At first, I don't get it. Then she told me that she was making 'tampo'.

I'm glad I have her bestfriend's number and helped me understand what it meant. :D

Thanks.

I told her, "Honey, I am disappointed!"

"Why?" she asks.

"I wanted you to hold out for four days, and set a new record."

"I was tired and needed a ride." :star:

It's Mexican tonight, for a belated birthday celebration. I guess I am buying.

Sorta, but different. It's not related to the monthly cycle. The only thing that changes is that the cheerful chatter stops, along with all the affectionate gestures. It's like if all the birds stopped singing, and it got uncomfortably cold all of a sudden. And just as sudden, she decides it's over, and forgotten.

Bill, if it's not too far for you, there's a Chevy's Fresh Mex in Novato inside the Vintage Oaks Shopping Center. You and Marie can try Chevy's Super Cinco or the Shrimp & Crab Enchilladas. Then, of course, your favorite Sonoma County chardonnay so that you won't be in the doghouse again!

We went to Taqueria La Tapatia in Guerneville. She had the Camarón Picante, and I had the Echiladas with Shredded Beef. A Pepsi for her, and a Bohemia for me. She likes the TexMex, but I don't care for it, if Chevy's is anything like Chili's.

How did Marie like the shrimp? Chevy’s is more Mexican than Chilis. Aside from the normal enchiladas, burritos and fajitas, it has some authentic Mexican delights such as tamales, flautas, carnitas & chili relleno.

¡Feliz Cumpleaños, compadre!
