Do I need a Co sponsor?

I'm looking over the affidavit of support form. I am wondering if I need a co sponsor. I make about $27,000 a year, and have worked at my current job for just under 2 years. I can get a letter from my employer and I can make copies of my pay stubs. I'm a bit worried though because after bills and stuff, I really don't have the much money left over. I am capable of supporting him once he arrives here, I am just not sure if I would need a co sponsor due to my lack of money in the bank.

You are well over the requirement for a household of 2 (18,212) based on income.

Look up the I-864P on the USCIS website for the 2008 poverty level guide.

That's what I thought. Wasn't sure though since the form does ask how much you have in a savings account.

(ps. Not sure how this got posted in K-3 discussion.. meant to post under US Embassy and Consulate discussion, could someone move this please? Thanks)

By the way - as long as your income is sufficient, you do not need to disclose things like; bank accounts, stock/bonds, assets, etc - those are optional and you may leave them blank.

OK, I am confused. Do I need to submit proof of employment AND a tax filing, or either or?

You will if your petitioner doesn't meet the poverty level.

It's dated 2008, but I don't think it's changed much.

Good luck

Best of Luck. Best wishes. Thank you.
