Hey All,

Quick question, does the application need to be touched first before approval. We filed in Feb, it will be 6 months next week.... Still waiting

Not only does it need to be touched, it needs to be FONDLED thoroughly before approval.

Seriously though, there is no rhyme or reason...some petitions show several touches before approval, others...nothing until it is approved.

Hang in there...

No - not in the way you mean. Some folks never see a 'touch' and just get approved.

And there are some cases where people are still getting "touches", but finished the process long ago....

(they are USC's now)

My Advice is usually based on "Worst Case Scenario" and what is written in the rules/laws/instructions. That is the way I roll... -Protect your Status - file before your I-94 expires.

WARNING: Phrases in this post may sound meaner than they were intended to be. Read the Adjudicator's Field Manual from USCIS

and some cases where the file on line says 'received and pending' and they were approved long ago. Getting a touch is nice but not getting a touch doesn't mean a thing. Good luck - you should be hearing something soon.

Moving to K-1 forum.

“...Isn't it splendid to think of all the things there are to find out about? It just makes me feel glad to be alive--it's such an interesting world. It wouldn't be half so interesting if we knew all about everything, would it? There'd be no scope for imagination then, would there?”

No. Our file was never "touched" and for that matter, never updated as "approved" either. I presume it was since my wife has been here for a year. The online update systems is worthless, really. I cannot see that it is any more than 50% accurate and as such is useless. You cannot rely on any information shown there...good or bad.
