Hi,

New to this within the last couple minutes..

I'm wondering.. during the medical.. what the blood test is actually testing for?.. I know it is for VD and HIV.. but are there anything else is tests for?

Also.. my daughter (from a previous relationship).. who is now 3, had Herpes Simplex Virus as a baby (affecting her mouth).. would this stop her from passing the medical?

Sorry if these questions seem silly, i'm very new to this.. and all the smallest things worry me!

Thank you for your time

They test for HIV,Syphilis, and chest X-ray for tuberculosis. they can check any disease that can be contagious to other people like some skin diseases. If you have treated herpes and had vaccinated it should be good :) it's important that she doesn't have any now .Good luck :)

Doctors here were baffled as they had no idea where she got it from

Herpes simplex type 1 - affecting the mouth - should not be a problem. Many people have this form of herpes - it is the cause of cold sores in the mouth. It is not considered a sexually transmitted disease. Herpes Simplex type 2 is the one that is considered a sexually transmitted disease and affects the genital area.

“...Isn't it splendid to think of all the things there are to find out about? It just makes me feel glad to be alive--it's such an interesting world. It wouldn't be half so interesting if we knew all about everything, would it? There'd be no scope for imagination then, would there?”
