sorry for the emotional outburst..

I didn't read it as an outburst but I can see your concern.

There may be problems and maybe just a few initial bumps in the road.

Over 30 years ago I had a long term Japanese GF and my mom (who is 83 now)

got to expect Asian GFs early on so she welcomed them with open arms, treating

them ALL (including my Japanese Ex) like queens and me not as well.

I've never heard any objections from any of my other family members about me & Asians

but then again they don't give a wrat's a~~ about me either

You will find your own friends among his American friends and your Pinoy ones,

so remember that in the US the immediate family is everything and the extended

family is non-existant (with exceptions, primarily among Latin, African and Asian immigrants).

My long-term Japanese GF once invited my mom to have lunch at our apartment.

She was an incredible cook and spent hours to prepare a fantastic lunch.

My mom camed armed with a sandwich (I'll forgive her for that because her

taste in food is out to lunch and I've never liked her cooking my whole life)!

I could have died and gone to hell and felt I deserved it!:angry::angry:

She still treated this GF better than she treated me, despite the sandwich.:blush::blush:

Colorism is a big problem in most countries. Truth be told she will be judged by some due to the color of her skin and her slanted eyes. Yes America is made up of all different races and nationalities; however, racism is alive and well. And just because we have a Black President America has a long way to go.

Thai's don't have slanted eyes. :hehe: I think she will fit right it, I will just say she is Mexican with a speech problem :bonk:

There is a store that my husband and I go to on occasion. EVERYTIME we go in someone either, starts speaking spanish to him or asks if he is spanish. I have to explain to him that some people just arent that culturally aware here. They know: white, black, and mexican and asian...they assume anyone with anything other than "white" or "black" skin is mexican and any asian is chinese. they even think indians and pakis are arabs too.

When we go into the arab market, they know right away and start talking arabic to him...funny

I know that doesnt have anything to do with skin color, but I had to share :P

Tell your wife that shes gorgeous and that some people here will envy her pretty skin tone and its not like her home country where people are obsessed with whiter skin, but actually the opposite in most cases. :)

My wife has worn out all the mirrors in our house since she arrived here  and also the floors in the malls

My wife has worn out all the mirrors at her home, I know I have to buy a full length mirror for our bedroom. I be talking to her on web cam and she be standing there looking at the Mirror. Lucky for me she was in a new nightly she got for our next tip  Well there is no malls by are place but she did find the Victoria's Secret web site :innocent: I have a shipment to bring to her when I go next month. Now I will be chatting with her and she will start replying slower. I just have to say are you on Victoria's Secret web site again dear and she laugh and say yes dear just looking.

And here I thought it was just my Filipina that gazed into the mirror all day

I hope one that you meet her, she sees that you are the one for her son and wont care about what country you come from. It sounds like maybe its a geographical issue for his mom, not so much "find a white gf" but more like "find a CLOSER gf" Good Luck :)

Naturally very few women would want to be seen as racist (or just merely less than fully accepting)

in the eyes of a potential mother of their grandchildren. One time, in order to test my mom's reaction to

the OTHER end of the spectrum, I invited a (white) female acquaintance to play tennis in my neighborhood,

necessitating a stop at my mom's house. My mom reacted as if the date for the wedding had already been set,

fawning over her to no end. The reaction of my female acquaintance was to hightail it to the hills and

never speak to me again.

I couldn't be more pleased. :whistle::innocent::devil::dance::yes::rofl:

The other side to my previous post is that I know my mom is so crazy that no

American woman in her right mind would interpret her behavior as anything

but a meddling mother-in-law. With my Asian GFs and my ex, my mom has

been warm, respectful, deferential and non-invasive. Every daughter-in-law's dream.

With Americans she behaves totally different and that would mean I'd have to

live a life of celibacy. So in a way my mom had a hand in my arriving at a

comfort zone with Asian women.

Asian women also respect their mothers in law more.

sorry for the emotional outburst..

Don't worry you can always talk to us.

I think everyone gets ask that question, why go across the world to find someone when you can find then here. I am sure they have many different reasons. Mine is easy, I want a young hot sexy trophy wife  Just kidding. after a fail marriage with one of the reason it fail was she was hiding the fact she was using birth control. I want a child. It kind hard to find someone my age around here that still want to have a child.

I feel family are not as close as they are in Asia. most people don't care what there family think and frankly you should not even worry about making her happy, Just your husband. As soon as she sees you make he little boy happy everything will be fine....

I can say my family loves my wife, they chat and exchange emails all the time. My mom talk more to Nan then she does me. Nan has to tell me what my mom is doing.
