Happy Sunday MENA (F)

I have been home all weekend tending to sick babies :( Zain is much better and left us to hang w/ Auntie Marsha...the little traitor... Nour is still sick and after 1 pediatrician visit and 1 ER visit...I'm wiped out. They don't know whats wrong but have ruled out a few things. Her temp was 105.3 on saturday morning at the ER. I am a worry wart and freaking out...can't wait for Monday for her follow up...so I can get some answers.

glad to hear nour is home from the ER. hope zain gets better too.

im sitting here listening to my house rumble as jets fly over it for the air show at the military base. i dont know what kind it is but there is one thats really loud, and fast that flys over. im surprise its not blowing the shingles off my roof.

today is the first real day of summer here in ohio. it got up into the 90's. i think ill stay inside in the AC.

Thanks honey. I'm happy she's home too but now its the waiting game and her temp was up again to 103 this morning...I can't take not knowing. They have ruled out a urinary tract infection, etc...but they don't know much more. They say maybe a virus but she has no other symthoms and is just so weak and tired. I just finished w/ her cool bath, some cold juice/water and now seeing if the motrin takes down her temp...but god, I can't keep druggin her up w/ motrin everyday. Thank god we are going to her pediatrician tomorrow....(if I make it thru the day w/out heading to the hospital ER first...i think the childrens hospital here thinks i'm a worry wart...:whistle: )

Sorry your babies are sick! when my daughter was younger, she used to get UTIs frequently and we always double-dosed the high fevers with tylenol and motrin, since you can take them at the same time. tylenol is supposedly better at reducing fever than motrin, too. I hope she gets better soon, I know that must be nerve-wracking!

Abigail, Ahmed and I just got home from going "for a relaxing walk" around downtown Cairo. This relaxing walk included walking 20 minutes through the bazaar to reach the Metro, 20 minutes on a stinky muggy subway, eating shwarma at a stand-up-and-eat cafe, going to Abd for cookies and ice cream only to discover they were out of ice cream, and they didn't have the cookies we wanted because all they had were Ramadan sweets, nuts, apricots, etc. I was sweating head to toe pretty much the whole time, trying to keep Abigail from darting out into traffic, or trying to keep traffic from darting into her. On the way home the metro was packed, and I started getting nauseated and dizzy from being overheated. I insisted that Ahmed get us a toktok to drive us the 20 minute walk back to the apartment, because I was just wiped out. The heat just sucks the life out of me. We still had to make it up the stairs to the fifth floor, but fortunately we made it without passing out  Anyway, if being relaxed means tearing off your clothes as soon as you walk in the door, then collapsing in a heap on the bed while your five-year-old fans you and brings you water, then I was completely and utterly relaxed. :P

Oh sick babies are a health hazard for mommies!!!! I hope she gets better soon. My mom used to get a chuckle out of my kids. They'd be soooo sick with a high fever and I'd be worried sick not able to sleep but exhausted from taking care of them and then whammo the next day they'd wake up bright eyed and bushy tailed wanting to play and I'd be just this limp poor excuse for a human.

With us I would always alternate tylenol and then motrin but we never took them together. Maybe that's something new? Also popsicles helped a lot. After a while they got wise though and would fake sick to get the popsicles :P

I have lamb kabobs in the oven (i'm grill-challenged) and they smell sooooo good! I'm hoping to suprize hubby since the past three days it's been take out.

We went to Greenfield Village on the free passes, but could only stay less than 2 hours because of the heat. Both of our hearts were hurting and so we decided to leave. I ended up going to church this evening, which is now being held at a Comfort Inn and I took advantage of the pool. Husband went on to one of his jobs and is happy there with a/c. Im wore out and think I will go to bed.

Don't just open your mouth and prove yourself a fool....put it in writing.

It gets harder the more you know. Because the more you find out, the uglier everything seems.

i'm so sorry to hear they are sick. did zain ever break out in a rash? a couple of months ago when ayah had roseola, that was how it presented. several days of a lethargic, high fevered baby, and then she broke out in a rash, the fever was gone, and she was back to her old self again. but it was really scary for those first 5 fever days. i hope and pray she recovers very quickly, and is back to her sweet little self again. poor little nour.

Thanks guys! (F) All of you for your concern. So far the only symthom she has had is fever...no rash, hives, congestion, etc... Nour still had a low grade fever even tonight but the motrin/baths and lots of fluids I think are helping. Tomorrow is the Pediatrician follow up...so praying it goes away or we have some answers.

On top of it all my hubby has oral surgery tomorrow so its going to be fun morning of running around and a night of taking care of three babies! :P:devil:
