hello all...im the USC and yesterday i picked up my documents that need's to be sent to my fiancee in germany. my lawyer advised that i send in copies of the original documents needed for the formal interview with packet 3 with all the required forms that are signed. while going over the the packet i see that she put my co-sponsers original tax transcript, original paystubs, and original i-134 signed....i read that the originals are needed for the interview so if i send those in i wont have the originals...please help what should i do???????

She will need the originals for the interview. If you want to hold on to the originals, then you will should probably consider flying over there to bring them to her for the interview and then flying them back home. I know it is tough to let the originals out of your possession - my now husband had difficulties with that too. It isn't so much not trusting your partner as not trusting the courier or mail system with these precious documents. Still, she will need to have the originals of any documents you submitted with the petition and the Affidavit of Support needs to have original documents so the Consular officials can verify they are not forgeries. Make and keep copies of everything you do send to your fiancee and make sure she has copies of everything you have submitted already. Send them by the most secure means you know regardless of the cost.

Oh, you don't send your passport - send your birth certificate - as proof of your US citizenship.

wait a minute- wait a minute...all i sent in for packet 3 was the ds-230 and the checklist. am i missing something here??!

07.02.10 - emailed that our case is moved to CSC!

07.14.10 - touched

07.21.10 - touched

08.03.10 - approved for EAD

08.05.10 - uscis mailed out EAD

08.09.10 - EAD received!

01.05.11 - a ###### RFE over 6 ###### months after the fact

02.01.11 - touched

02.14.11 - APPROVED (finally)!

02.25.11 - received green card in the mail

DONE WITH USCIS FOR 2 YEARS!
