Additional passport photos required at the interview?

Hi,

My wife's citizenship interview is at the end of this month. On the notification letter, it says 'it's not required but we recommend you to bring 2 more passport photos to the interview'....

Is it necessary to take 2 more passport photos and bring them to the interview? Has anyone been questioned for that at the interview?

I'm just thinking if it's not necessary, why need to go to take passport photos again since we did submit them with N400 application?

Any idea?

Take em - better to have them, then to not.

(especially when they recommend it :))

My Advice is usually based on "Worst Case Scenario" and what is written in the rules/laws/instructions. That is the way I roll... -Protect your Status - file before your I-94 expires.

Those passport photos, least one of them, becomes part of your certificate, no photo, no certificate. The USCIS by recommending you bring extras along is an admission that they lose things, and if they do, you are the loser.

Take them. That way, if nothing else, she'll have a choice which one she wants to be on her certificate.

That's a good idea!

Since I took the photos myself of my wife, put six on a 4 by 6 photo and paid Walgreens 19 cents, actually order two for 38 cents, so we had a dozen photos. Put the other ten in a zip lock, wife took those along, they didn't lose hers.

When she got her drivers' license renewed, the agent told her to give him a nice big smile, I was the bad guy in taking her certificate photo, so had to show her the website where it said, smiles will not be accepted, something about poor software the FBI doesn't have. Then we watched NCIS where Abby did a photo ID with a severely angled face reflected off a window, so my wife commented, how can they do that? Could only respond, the NCIS has Abby, not those idiots that work for the FBI. Gibbs doesn't like the FBI either.
