My hubby and I Eloped the first time I visited. His people know and are happy for us but most of my fam and friends don't know yet. We met on-line and had a quick courtship. Needless to say, we don't have very much 'Bona Fida'. Do we really need it? If so what are some other things we can use as evidence. I hope were not screwed.

You will be "screwed" if you don't have a lot of evidence of you guys having a bonafide marriage. Nigeria is one of the highest fraud countries in the immigration system.

You have to do better than the scammers and the scammers are good!

Isn't Nigeria the country where I get all these unsolicited emails from the friendly bank president who wants to send me $2million dollars, if I just send him a goodwill token $7000 deposit to activate the account? Very generous offer, but I just don't have an extra $7K laying around.

Good luck with your petition. You probably want to try and make your relationship look serious. Take lotz of pics!

ps

Please say hello to the friendly banker there for me!

yes that is what nigeria is . the capital of the nigeria scam 419 . yes they have millions of dollars to give to americans. i saw the article on MSNBC about the nigeria. in date line about how to catch a thief. i love that show.

LOL. The irony! Isn't that the golddigger calling the kettle black. Philippinas scam more American men than Nigerians every will. So you got us beat.

There are scammers anywhere there are computers now.

Main thing is for people here to be aware that they have to do one better than the scammers with proof of having a bonafide relationship or marriage.

When the beneficiary walks into the interview they are just a number and a possible scammer.

It's up to you guys to show them you are for real.

K1 denied, K3/K4, CR-1/CR-2, AOS, ROC, Adoption, US citizenship and dual citizenship

Sometimes these scams are not originating in Nigeria. Some come from the good ol US of A, as well as other countries. Not saying that nigeria isn't considered a high fraud country in the eyes of the US but keep in mind that it is not all coming from Nigeria.

We got married in Nigeria and to prove the bonafide of our marriage i am moving to Lagos to stay there with him for about 3 to 5 month until his interview, i knew the time spent together in person really really matters so we are not gonna take no risk of letting them deny us joy, love and our family...

Mind you guys the scam issue that goes around the US does not only come from Nigeria but from other locations around the world too, last december i was duped by one MONICA PEARSON of $6000 she MONICA claims she was from africa Nigeria precisely and coming to the US on business and needs somewhere to stay, request me to offer her a room in my house with a an offer any of us here will find irrestible but i indignantly refuse and she Monica requested me to help her look for accomodation and she will send me a cheque to pay for it and somehow somewhere the cheque was sent to my home address and somehow somewhere the cheque got stock and she Monica request for my help to pay to the owner of the house here in the US the require $6000 and when she arrive i will get my money back cos i will be picking her from the airport to be sure and i have a her flight tickets they had the cheque sent from asia Japan precisely but i never got it but the usps confirmed i had a mail from there.. infact to cut the long story short MONICA PEARSON never show up that day the house in the US never esxisted, the account i paid the money to was in US but the owner cud not be indentify and the IP address which Monica was connected to was a UK Internet Service provider, got to know all of it was a scam when i reported to the authority of the bank and government office.

This scammers are network of peoples around the world and because that country Nigeria has the spotlight on it now the others around the world claims they are from there too to pepertrate the evils. So fella's be very careful and dont be suspicios of Nigeria alone but anybody or mail you feels is a scam just spam such email and u wont get them its easier that way but you will still possibly get from other address just be careful. This people post to be Bankers just as to one poster was requested $7000 to get $2m, they are sometimes looking for beneficiaries also wise up guys.

And talking about marriage fraud if anyone says Nigeria is is a marraige fraud country then what will you say about this countries VIETNAM, PHILIPINES and possibly some others... I am not saying Nigeria is bad than the others or that the others are bad than Nigeria just tryig to say when you castigate you should atleats talk about some Good things about those places... I heard Nigeria is holding the Under-17 world cup and the draw was held the that country's capital city yesterday and i think i am going to be able to watch the US game match live cos i will be there sept till december and come home for christmas...LOL... just trying to be positive and we all should do tha PLEASE.

1 LOVE

The issue is whether the OP and her husband can prove that they have a marriage that is real. It makes no difference to the Consulates in Nigeria that visa scamming occurs in other countries. What matters is that Nigerians have a formidable record of getting visas to the U.S. based on artificial love relationships. So it is accurate to say that your husband will be regarded as a fraud when he is interviewed, until he proves otherwise. Times spent together are good evidence. If you can go visit again, do so!!

Good luck.

yes that is what nigeria is .

What an ignorant statement. No that is not what Nigeria is. Maybe that is what some Nigerian have resorted to, but that does not identify a whole country of wonderful respectful people.
