 You didn't have it a MONTH later?? I was counting on having it 4 days after the interview. But I won't book the ticket until we get the visa from DHL. This makes me wonder if I should "waste" a day & pick it up from DHL in Kingston instead of waiting for it to get to Montego Bay. It seems that the transit from Kingston to Montego Bay is just one more opportunity for something to go wrong. I didn't want to make that drive all the way from Negril to Kingston to pick it up, though, but I won't have a month to wait! We need to take the premarital counseling class at church that starts in October.

You can't count on anything, whether you pick it up or have it delivered, until it is actually in hand - Getting it in 4 days is lucky- I have seen people wait 3-4 months -

Im looking through K1 stuff to familiarize myself with stuff. Something I should have done at the beginning of this journey....

Morning Mstee - Doesn't matter when you look through it, as long as you do, lol - Are you waiting to receive the packet from the embassy, or did you download the forms?

Im on ready set go. I have all the forms filled out just waiting on packet 3 which was mailed on 8/11 and they told him to come get it on 9/8 which Im not understanding. Ive given in to his mother, she is guiding Steve along and whatever they ask me for I have it ready. Thats why I was getting pissed with her.

Should I mail a copy of the DS-230, part I to the embassy?

I would follow Jawi's guide - Either start emailing the embassy to get him an appointment to drop off the DS-230 or have him send you the signed one back and mail it - Definitely don't wait for the packet to come, many people don't ever get them -

See Jawi's great thread here:

Mawnin Ladies.....My2 so happy she got insomnia....lol

learn from my mistakes ladies!

ugh

what a pain

we were given the run around by the embassy and DHL- go figga

DHL was saying a variety of things:

*the passport/visa never left the embasssy,

*also saying it was 'misplaced' in main DHL distrubition center in kingston 5,

*then saying it was 'on hold' at the embassy

*also saying it was in transit to montego bay

*DHL employee: "hmmmmmm, that's weird, i've never seen a document put on hold except when waiting to clear customs"

the Embassy was saying:

*a visa has not been issued- you will be contacted with further info

*visa has been issued, but placed on hold- you will be contacted with further info

damion finally got a call on saturday afternoon around 3 o'clock (3 days ago) saying:

'you need to come to kingston this monday before 10 am to get your fingerprints retaken' gaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah

so he went to kingston yesterday from mobay and had his fingerprints retaken for 85$(USD), and now their 'mixup' is fixed i suppose

i was stupid in thinking that a month from the interview would be enough time to get the visa in his hands..... so now he is coming at a later date.

i learned my lesson~ never make plane reservation until visa is in hand

i knew this, so i cant be so upset with anybody but myself

oh well, it will only be 150$ to change the ticket

(i mean what 150$ more when we have invested this much already? LOL  )

Y'ALL HAVE A WONDERFUL, PRODUCTIVE, AND EASY DAY!

Girl I feel ya I would be frustrated too.......this whole process takes a lotta damn money........i will be close to Kingston so I think we will pick it up.

So when will he get it.....or did he recieve it when he went back for the fingerprints???

Joke of the day:

Sunday morning in Bronx, New York. The church is packed and the devil decides to pay a visit.

The doors burst open; a black cloud rolls in with the devil in its midst. People jump out of the pews and run outdoors, screaming - all except for two people. One is the Pastor, the other is a Jamaican.

Satan is a bit perplexed. He points to the Pastor and says, "You! I can understand why you didn't run away, you are in your Lord's house, you preach against me everyday and you aren't afraid of me. But YOU (points to the Jamaican), why didn't you run out scared like everyone else?"

The Jamaican crosses one leg over the other and replies, "See one, see de other! I been married to you sister for 36 years.
