learn from my mistakes ladies!

ugh

what a pain

we were given the run around by the embassy and DHL- go figga

DHL was saying a variety of things:

*the passport/visa never left the embasssy,

*also saying it was 'misplaced' in main DHL distrubition center in kingston 5,

*then saying it was 'on hold' at the embassy

*also saying it was in transit to montego bay

*DHL employee: "hmmmmmm, that's weird, i've never seen a document put on hold except when waiting to clear customs"

the Embassy was saying:

*a visa has not been issued- you will be contacted with further info

*visa has been issued, but placed on hold- you will be contacted with further info

damion finally got a call on saturday afternoon around 3 o'clock (3 days ago) saying:

'you need to come to kingston this monday before 10 am to get your fingerprints retaken' gaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah

so he went to kingston yesterday from mobay and had his fingerprints retaken for 85$(USD), and now their 'mixup' is fixed i suppose

i was stupid in thinking that a month from the interview would be enough time to get the visa in his hands..... so now he is coming at a later date.

i learned my lesson~ never make plane reservation until visa is in hand

i knew this, so i cant be so upset with anybody but myself

oh well, it will only be 150$ to change the ticket

(i mean what 150$ more when we have invested this much already? LOL  )

Y'ALL HAVE A WONDERFUL, PRODUCTIVE, AND EASY DAY!

Hey I got this in an email.....had me crackin up!

A little boy comes down to breakfast. Since they live on a farm, his mother asks if he had done his chores.?

'Not yet,' said the little boy.? His mother tells him he can't have any breakfast until he does his chores.?

Well, he's a little ticked off, so he goes to feed the chickens, and kicks a chicken.

He goes to feed the cows, and he kicks a cow.

He goes to feed the pigs, and he kicks a pig.

He goes back in for breakfast and his mother gives him a bowl of dry cereal.

'How come I don't get any eggs and bacon? Why don't have milk in my cereal?' he asks.

'Well,' his mother says, 'I saw you kick the chicken, so you don't get any eggs for a week. I saw you kick the pig, so you don't get any bacon, for a week either. I also saw you kick the cow, so, for a week you aren't getting any milk.'

Just then, his father comes down for breakfast and kicks the pussycat as he's walking into the kitchen. The little boy looks up at his mother with a smile, and says, 'Are you going to tell him, or should I??

Tell him What? asks the mother...

That he is not going to get any ##### for a week!

Replies the little boy with a very big smile.........

 That was cute...

Good morning, All

i was stupid in thinking that a month from the interview would be enough time to get the visa in his hands..... so now he is coming at a later date.

 You didn't have it a MONTH later?? I was counting on having it 4 days after the interview. But I won't book the ticket until we get the visa from DHL. This makes me wonder if I should "waste" a day & pick it up from DHL in Kingston instead of waiting for it to get to Montego Bay. It seems that the transit from Kingston to Montego Bay is just one more opportunity for something to go wrong. I didn't want to make that drive all the way from Negril to Kingston to pick it up, though, but I won't have a month to wait! We need to take the premarital counseling class at church that starts in October.
