We met online on may,06.2008 and started talking and i went to see on the august 19th, 2008 and got engage to her next day. then in december, 17th 2008 we got married in philippines, file for the papers when i come back on the march,12, 2009 and now waiting for her to come to usa and live with me for the rest of her life.

abby n sheryl

That is good for you girl,,,you're not like the other person here, she don't take much time to determined whether they are compatible or not, she just want to spread her legs for the first or 2nd meeting in person. so the guy mind will cloud, and decided to love her. and will petition her to come to US.... what a smart scammer.

Hey, Abby ain't no girl. She is a man, man! :star:

It would be better if you will figured out first if the guy you meet is compatible to you, make sure he is honest showing of who he is. You should also be honest to him as well. pay attention, if you have in common, then some of the same interests, the two of you into having Family? how many child/children do you like? the two of you can live up or accept her/his chracters? and most importantly how do you handle the money, do you like to have a joint account? or do you prefer to have, each of you have your own bank acount? the last thing but not the least, do you both enjoy having sex? how often?

It don't take much time to determined compatibility between partners. After the second date, I assumes that you have sex already and you have make up your mind that she is the one for you and she also has make up her mind that you is for her. Some famous people get married after only a short cortshif. For example, Pres. Marcos married Imelda only after 7 days of knowing each other.

Pardon me, why is my English grammar broke now like you bulaklak?

Seriously, I don't have any idea if a brief courtship raises a red flag for imigration purposes. My husband and I have been sweethearts for almost ten years before he filed the I-129 petition last year. We are now married and living together in the Sonoran desert and we don't have any regrets.

If you think she is the one for you, go ahead and strike while the iron is hot!

Hey, where is that a picture of in your sig? It's cute looking.

It's Baguio Cty, bud.

Just green,green,green,green card??? :rofl::devil:

Not in my case. I'll tell you we has been boyfriend/girlfriend thing before he gone to America 8 years ago. You are make my English sound very bad, bulaklak. Modesty aside, I used to be the Associate Editor of the school paper at La Consolacion College. How about that for a journalistic background, eh?

Ok, I was basically just wanting to know how short of a time would be considered a red flag or "deal killer" as far as the Philippine consulate was concerned. Not really looking for a thread jacking..LOL. I've been on the forums here for quite a while, just not in this section until a little over a month ago. Thanks everyone for your replies!!

Ok, that's what I was looking for! Thanks! I met someone about 5 weeks ago and we've been talking 2 times a day, every day, since. I'm flying to meet her next week. I feel like I've known her forever and I don't anticipate that changing once we've met in person. I was just fishing for an answer to see if anyone had gone through either the K-1 or CR-1 process after only knowing each other for 2 or 3 months. I'm not jumping the gun here, just trying to get a feel for what to expect and what "to do" and what "not to do" to jeopardize the future.

you should be fine. when the time comes for the interview, just have evidence of a genuine, ongoing relationship.

as far as some of the personal comments made in this thread, they only foster the negative stereotypes some people have of Fil-Am relationships.

I agree full heartily with the above, each relationship is unique, that is why is called "OUR RELATIONSHIP" not their relationship....

as far as personal comments on this forum...ignore them if you can ...unless they touching a raw nerve...

Best Wishes...

Thanks so much! Like I said, I've been here for quite some time so a little fussing isn't a surprise..lol. I went to meet a girl in Vietnam some time back. It didn't work out at all and just by chance after I came home, I met Merlaine online. Actually it was a member here who made a "suggestion" that spawned our meeting! Guess things do happen for a reason. I wouldn't be going to meet her this soon if time wasn't working against me. I either go now, or wait close to (if not longer) a year to go. I can't imagine having to wait that long to go, so it's now!!

I am also assuming that after the second date and after you hopped in bed together, you will figure out if you are MFEO (meant for each other?)

On my third date with my last Mexican girl friend, we had sex but then she shouted at me and said that I MFEO! I'm pretty sure it didn't mean "meant for each other" because that was the last time we saw each other.

me and my fiance had talked for about 5 months til finally meetin in person. when you meet that one special person, you do feel like you could get married in a heartbeat  and while waiting for your file to get processed it can also help make you learn more about each other too;  especially when the stress gets to you, you can really learn about what you need to do to support each other in times like that

anyway, me and my fiance filed for the K-1 a few weeks after he left :) i actually got worried at one point that maybe we might get RFEs or something especially because our photos were mostly face pics; but hey, we got approved so i guess it's ok  and right now, we're just waiting on progress reports for our processing

i also read on this e-book that during the interview you just need to be honest and pretty much convince them that your relationship is true and all you really want is to be with the one you love; but hey, prayers work too ;)

and while i was reading this whole thread i cant help notice how some people are just trying to lash at each other for petty stuff; it's not entertainment, it spells issues lol

you dnt need to pick on people if they dont seem to fit your standards, it doesnt make you sound any smarter/superior but rather childish.. maybe people can post something relevant to the OP's post? just a suggestion

If you have the opportunity (time and money) to meet, then go ahead! If you don't gain a lifetime partner, you can still be friends and enjoy yourself in the Philippines. Nothing to lose, everything to gain!

Hubby and I "dated" online for 4 months before we met in person, we got married two weeks later, the process has been rough but it made us stronger as a couple. :)

Well...that is not what I mean....what I'm trying to say in my previous post. figure it out before you hopping in bed together.

If you want to have sex in the first date,,,,then that is your choice.:rofl:

Tell that to the marines Lotus. That is not my choice too.

you will be fine just get to know all you can about each other cr-1 is a much better visa then k-1 yes it takes longer for cr but the time and money it saves is well worth the wait.

like you see in my time line my wife and i met in feb and my first visit in april we got married .so if anyone were to get red flagged it would of been us but it was smooth during the interview.and we had interview during the doc. verification time. any way you do what you feel your first instint are your best till your brain tries to talk you out of it.

find the sample questions they might ask and talk about them.
