Hey all,

I don't know if there are still Belgian/US or Dutch/US couples reading these forums, but for those still out there, what were your experiences with international moving companies?

Companies that stick out for excellent service?

Thanks for all the tips.

Hi BaWa,

I used Ziegler to move my things from Belgium (area of Brussels) to the US.

They are good but they are not the cheapest, I think.

If you do use Ziegler, I would ask them to NOT work with Aires in the US. Because I was absolutely not happy with this US company.

There was a piano in the container. I paid extra for it, however Aires did not send the specialised team they were supposed to send. So the piano got damaged.

Ziegler did reimburse me for it without any issue.

Hi!

I have used and will again be using UPakWeShip/EuroUSA to ship to and from the Netherlands. I used them in the past to ship my things from Pennsylvania to the Netherlands and will again be using them in the near future to ship my things from the Netherlands back to PA.

On my way to the Netherlands I shipped about 100 cubic feet of household goods. Things got a little dirty and dusty and the boxes were a bit beat-up but all in all I had two wine glasses that were broken and that was it (and I packed them so I think I was a fault, bad packing job).

The customer service at the company is great, I talked to my agent many times on the phone with all sorts of questions.

Prices are comparative to other companies, looking at around $1000-2000 USD (to east coast US)depending on how much you do or don't want done (ie they pack for you, pick-up or drop off at the port, etc).

Hope this helps.

Jessica

Thank you both for the feedback, I'll be looking into those companies and see which one looks the most interesting.
