Starting K1 for Fiancee (South Korean)

I'm starting the I-129f process now. My Fiancee (got engaged on the 25th) is currently here on a Visitor Visa (actually she is here on the VWP). Can I start the process (send the package as outlined here) while she is still in the US? Can she come and visit me while we are waiting for the next stage?

I've done a lot of reading and have not seen anything that says I can't… want to make sure…

BTW, I think this entire process is retarded. But I intend to follow the rules.

I was looking at your timeline in your sig. What does "touched" mean. And what is with all the different packets? Why only 3 and 4? what is 1 and 2?

Also, the G-325a form only has 1 page... why do the instructions say all 4 pages? Are these all duplicates?

The "packet" system is legacy terminology (before the internet).... The only thing really remaining from the way it used to be is P3 and sometimes P4

YMMV

Still don't get the instructions that say to fill out all 4 pages of the G-325a... The pdf only has 1 page (minus the 2nd page that is instructions).

When you print it out, there are 4 pages exactly the same thing. (G-325A) 4 for you, 4 for her, passport photo of you attached to one of the 325A for you and ditto for her also.

Comments : She recived the first notice from Manila on Valentines day. Perfect timing.

The first setback came during the medical. Naty had to do the 3 day sputum and then we waited 2 months for the results. YESSSS>came back negative

Went for her interview on July 16th and received her Pink Slip......Finally. Paid the AIR21 and I expect her here August 10th, 2009. Marriage will be August 21st, exactly 4 years to the day that we first met.

Can I just fill it out once, then make copies? Or do they want me to send 4 originals that are exactly the same? Bizzaro.

It is a newly released version of the G-325A - for now it is conflicting as to whether or not submit 4 copies or just the single one. Seems to consensus right now is to lean with the conservative and print 4 copies (complete the one and print 4 copies, or print one and make 3 copies, which ever you prefer), until USCIS clarifies what the actual instructions are.

I was reading reviews of the Consulate in Korea. Many of the reviews stated that they allowed the fiancee and the fiance to be present during the interview - but the dates were 2006. Is this something that is not longer allowed? Or is it up to each Consulate to decide?

Or is it up to each Consulate to decide?

Seems to be Embassy/Consulate-specific - according to the Embassy Section here on VJ, it is allowed (presumably still allowed unless no one has updated the page).

About where my fiancee has lived (past 5 years)... my fiancee's parents bought a home in her name 2 years ago where she has her perm address. But before that, she would basically live between her parents other 2 homes and her 3 sisters. Pretty much coming and going as she wanted. I asked her where she had bank statements and other documents sent - and seems she had different banks / schools / whatever send her stuff to different addresses.

Any advice?

Can't address the address issue (oy, weird sentence) but as for the 4 copies of G325A, the old version (not familiar with the newer one) was all the same save for markings on the bottom left of each page ((1) Ident. (2) Rec. Br. (3) C. (4) Consulate)

I assume those were to signify which page was to be kept by which department/place.

And yeah, the whole process is annoyingly long winded full of red tape.
