So I decided to check on my AP because I thought maybe they'd put it in the system. That was approved too.

Congrats on both! You should get the AP within a few days, the EAD you will get another production notice and then a sent notice for, just so you know...made me all confused lol

grats guys. glad to see some progress on your aos. :)

so at my poe i tried to get a copy of my medical lol. alas..shift changes..newbies, computer issues..good thing i checked my i-94 before i left..my name was spelt wrong..that took another 30 mins to fix.

my only worry..they asked for davids id and it has his old address on it..not the new one..althought they had all my paperwork..and we can get mail at both address's..his parents live at both til end of may. i'm just wondering if this will cause an issue...

trying hard not to worry about anything..david says for the next two weeks i'm not allowed to worry / stress or anything..lol. he said mandatory vacation time out for me :P

You POE'd at Detroit right? That figures!

If I ever see the USCBP side of the Detroit tunnel again, it'll be too soon.

Anyway, touch on my I-485 today, but oddly neither of the other two. I think that means a CSC officer is looking at it, since it arrived there on the 25th of March! Maybe they'll just adjust me now and forget about the others? :P

argh..so will be a month before i can file for AOS..the clerk at the county office told us we are not allowed to hand bring in our marriage licence, in order to get our certificate..it has to be mailed and will take a minimum of 3 weeks to get it. /sigh. so 15$ for the first copy and 4$ for each there after..i'm going to need what..like 5 for aos ead etc? or can i just use copies of the original?

The marriage certificates here are $15 each one, so we got 3 copies. In our AoS, we included the original with the AoS, and included photocopies of the marriage certificate with the EAD and AP applications. We made sure to indicate that they were photocopies of them on the cover sheet. There were no problems with it. I specifically asked the interview officer about it as I was a bit paranoid.

I feel your pain in not being able to hand deliver the marriage license. Big pain in the butt, and delayed our petition being mailed in as well (of course, we added an extra delay by forgetting to put the location of our marriage  heh, but anyhow..).

You don't need to send in an original with your petition. You can send in copies of it, indicate as such on your cover letter, and bring the original with you to the interview. Having said that, I still ordered extra copies: one sits inside the cover of my passport, one sits with all of my AOS paperwork prep for the interview, one is my take-along to the bank, DMV, etc when changing names (basically my disposable one) and the other is filed away for safe keeping.

I just included photocopies with the entire packet. I brought a certified copy to the interview and asked the IO if he wanted it, and he looked at me like I was crazy and said it wasn't necessary. Soo... I think copies are just fine. I've never heard of anyone getting an RFE for not sending a certified copy.

I just used the original to do all the name change stuff, mostly because I'm too cheap to spend the $1.25 to get certified copies :P

I just submitted my AOS paperwork last week and today I got email/text message confirmation and receipt numbers, yay! I have a question. You guys are talking about sending marriage certificates for EAD and AP also. I totally forgot to do that, it didn't say it's needed in the instructions so I never thought of putting it in. I'm applying in my married name, so I only sent one marriage certificate, together with I485. Will I get a RFE?

To be honest, I don't even remember if I submitted photocopies or an original marriage license. My cover letter says 'copy' but that doesn't mean anything really. lol I have extra marriage certificates for various uses as well, so I imagine one of them was an original. But I'm not too worried about it. For the EAD and AP it's not needed anyways, except to show your name change.

Kimbear, I had to wait 2 months to send AOS because of several delays that came up, that I'll spare you all and won't bother listing. lol Don't feel bad. One month is nothing. My NOA is dated ONE DAY before my I-94 expires! LOL It's frustrating seeing people who applied when I originally WANTED to apply are getting their EAD and APs approved now, and I've only just received my first NOA. :( I'm happy for them, but just angry about my situation. But whatever. Nothing I can do. Just wait. :clock:

At least it's not several months like I've seen many people do. Eek. 2 months is really nothing in the grand scheme of things either.
