ok, was just wondering if it's like the consulate interview where you are first come first served.

No it's definitely not first come first serve, they go by the time listed. If they have space/time, sometimes they'll slot you in early.

Like Peachy, I waited maybe 30 minutes for my time. My office was super busy and they take multiple full hand fingerprints. It's pretty insane actually! Haha.

I would really suppose how busy an office usually is. Mines in Charleston, SC and I walked in at my appointed time; gave them my letter, etc...they took me in, had to fill out some form, then it was finger prints, and picture time! Simple stuff, but he did have to do my right thumb a couple of times. I really don't think I was in there that long, less than 1/2 hour. There were a few others, but I would say the place was really busy.

However I'm sure there are offices in the much bigger cities that would be different.

Wonder if you can call the place your going to and ask them what it's like? Maybe you can get in earlier?

I agree with the others. :) Definitely give them a call, or if it's not far, just go and try an early walk-in this week or next. You deserve it after already waiting so long!! And yes, they just go by the appointment time, not first come first serve.

It might not be quick. I was there for a good half hour. The finger printing is much more intensive at this one than the ones we did before.

is it worse than the fingerprinting they did to me at the poe when i was refused entry? LOL. good grief..i feel like i have an immigration rapsheet..like seriously, all the photos and fingerprints before this process, during and it's still going and going..

They spray your hands with water and then they do like 3-4 sets of prints on this large machine of every finger, one finger at a time. It's actually pretty neat. You can see all the prints on a screen in front of you.

Well, we got it today. And I'm absolutely LIVID. It's all for things I submitted!! They just lost the stuff!

Basically it's for the ENTIRE I-864 and I-864A package(which was clipped together with a black acco fastener). They want it all. I KNOW I included it in that package, because the day I sent it out I had to go to moms office and have her sign her portion, then I put it in the envelope and sealed it.

Whatever. Tomorrow I'm overnighting the I-864/864A, tax returns for 2009 for the both of us including w-2s, PLUS the tax transcripts. Try and RFE me again over the same thing and we're gonna roll, USCIS. :ranting:

:o Kayla*Mathew!!!! That is completely unreal! What are they doing there? I mean really.....I'm agreeing with Kimbear! It seems like, (at least here in the Canada forum* that files and such have been getting misplaced a lot more frequently recently. Wow...someone on their vacation over there or what??? :bonk:

Colleens! Great about the AP! I would have thought nothing would be approved until after the biometrics. I really hope you do get your letter soon. Everything seemed to go fast after that was done. For me anyway. Course..my RFE did put me behind about a month!

I don't know what they're doing over there but whatever it is, it aint work. I know it cost me a relatively short amount of time compared to other people, but losing something that should be in the file is unacceptable. I could understand if it were something I legitimately forgot to do, but it isn't. It's something that was already there. And the lost medicals are even worse. Those are things that leave our hands at the interview and are with them from there on out. If they get lost or are not in the file that's because one of their monkeys LOST IT. It's totally unfair to make us re-pay for a medical that they lost. At the very least it should be reimbursed or done free of charge since it was their error.

But of course, it's them we're talking about. Nothing ever goes the way it's supposed to.

Wow, they lost the I-864?! It boggles my mind how you can send them $1010 to work on your stuff and they can be so disorganized.

I would love a discount due to their errors!

I've been trying to get my car title stuff figured out. They put miles instead of kilometres on my Florida title, even though I was very clear that it was kilometres. I went to the tag agency again today, and they said I have to go back to the DMV inspector, have another form filled out, then I can go back to the tag agency. Seriously people?!

My running tally...

Social Security: 5 times

DMV: 5 times... plus another appointment coming up as my temporary license is about to expire and no card in the mail yet

Tag Agency: 3 times, plus one more to go to get my title fixed

Just a heads' up: Tallahassee sucks in sending out the cards, and basically wait to ship it out (it seems) until the week your temp is set to expire. I was told by the DMV that they could not do anything for me until the temp expired. Then, they could put in a request to see why it's been delayed. However, you can actually do that call yourself, ahead of it expiring, to see what's what.

The system is quite backwards.

Wow, that sucks about the tags. KY was very easy to deal with about it. We told the inspector that his car was in Kilometers and he was like "'bout how many miles ya think that is? We'll just put that!" and he did. Then we went back to the DMV and got everything taken care of. That's not to say we didn't have ANY trouble, because me and the DMV lady got into a screaming match the first time we went because she didn't think my husband was good enough to have his car tagged since he was an immigrant. Of course she didn't say that but her sneer and the way she acted when I told her it was a Canadian car needing to be tagged and registered and that my husband was here on a visa and therefor didn't have a SSN yet you could just tell. I just LOOOVVVEEDDD it when she told me that she couldn't do it without an SSN and when I practically forced her to call Frankfort(the main office) I heard them tell her "uhh yeah, he's from a Geneva Compact country you just need....". After she hung up the phone she acted like they didn't tell her anything useful and threw his papers at me and screamed for the next person.

Needless to say I called and complained.

The RFE response was delivered today. I can only wonder what they're going to lose next.

Good idea. I asked the DMV agent when they gave me my temporary what would happen if the paper license expired before I received the card in the mail. He told me to return to the DMV and that they would issue me a card there on the spot if that was the case. But Sam, after hearing what happened to you, I have a feeling that when I go back they'll tell me what they told you! I have no faith in this stuff anymore.
