How long for RFE to be processed?

Hi,

I was wondering if you have any idea how long it takes for NVC to process a RFE once they receive the requested docs.

My case would've been completed this week but NVC requested a copy of ds2019 a document that they do not even list as something that is supposed to be a part of DS230 packet. Since I am not a mind reader there was no way I could've avoided this RFE...any ideas on how much longer it might take in a situation like this?

Never heard of this form...is this specific only 2 your case? I ask because I'm coming up on this stage next...

DS-2019 is a form issued from USCIS to students who are going to study (or exchange program) in USA. With this form students go to USEM in their country and apply for a student visa - J-1, F-1, M-1.

I also wouldn't have any idea, until I read on VJ in one of the threads that someone got RFE because NVC needed DS-2019. Then I contacted that person (she was my nationality) and asked her. She explained that NVC does not have it in the list of DS-230 package required documents and they require that documents from all beneficiaries who've been in USA before on any kind of student visa. Then I made copies of all my DS-2019 (4) and copies of all my other visas that were issued to me for visit and stay in USA. This way we avoided getting an RFE with any of the documents and then they lost my passport photos It took them 10 days to review them after receiving and to complete our case!!! 10 days, and with the issuing of RFE till case complete - 2 weeks! Don't be angry, just try to send them back the DS ASAP and pray that'd be the last RFE you'd get
