And I was wondering if it was possible to have that done in Montreal for myself? I would really like that as it would save me 100$ and all the time and running around it'd take to get new docs to procure a new passport when my present passport is still good for 3 years.

I don't need all my stuff in my married name, I just really wanted all my new US documents in it.

Any advice would be helpful. We're filing for a CR1 our of Montreal, Canada.

July 8, 2009 to August 10, 2009 - 28 days

Interview Assigned - December 3, 2009 - FINALLY!!

Medical - December 14, 2009 - Passed

Embassy/Interview - January 26, 2010 Montreal, Quebec Canada - 167 days PASSED!!!

Port of Entry - February 26, 2010 Baltimore International, Maryland

USCIS -- ROC package sent off

November 26, 2011 to Vermont station November 30, 2011 received NOA1December 16, 2011 received biometrics appointment.

January 04, 2012 Biometrics

September 2, 2012, RFE Received.

September 22, 2012 RFE responded to

October 15, 2012 ROC approved, 10 Green card on its way.

Unfortunately, I believe that other Canadians have mentioned that the US documents will be in the name on the CR-1 visa and that name is the one that is in your passport. I believe there was one person - don't remember who - who wanted her CR-1 in her married name but wasn't able to get it. There is the opportunity when you file for US citizenship to have a legal name change at the same time as your citizenship oath, but that is somewhat down the road. You're probably going to have to change your passport or stick with your maiden name for your US documents.
