Happy Caturday MENA! :star:

Still cool this morning here in Cairo. Hoping it won't get too hot today.

Thanks to Olivia for suggesting I clear out my cache. I couldn't access the boards until last night as my browser was being temperamental after the upgrade here. lol

And, *ahem*, lol, happy 40th birthday to me!

I didn't think I'd be bothered by 40, but I kinda am. I know it's just a number but somehow I feel like all the fun is gone and everything needs to be serious. Silly I guess, but it's making me sad.

We should be going to see the new Harry Potter tonight and maybe out to dinner.

Hubby wants to know what I want for my birthday but I can't really think of anything except maybe clothes. Boring right?

Okay, enough griping from me, I know some of you are facing much worse problems than my mid life crisis.

Nagi, hope things get settled for you and you can get back on some insurance!!! (F)

Tamara, so excited for you! Moving is so much fun and you'll be back with family and friends. :D

Nawal, when do we get to see pictures of your new place? :P

Sara, thanks for the new pic, adorable as always.

Olivia, I've had the same problem trying to find tortilla chips here. I miss them sooooo much!! I may just try making them.

Tasha, what happened with your son??

Everyone, have a wonderful Saturday, may God keep you well.

:luv:

Living with hubby in Egypt, at last.

Good morning! Happy Saturday to everyone. Had one heck of a storm last night. Definately monsoons are in full force here! It's to be 109 today.

Happy Birthday Melly!:star::dance: Have a wonderful day!

Tammy, know you are excited to get the heck out of Dodge! I simply LOVE moving!

GG, how are you doing? Getting close to your travel time also!!

Maureen, hope your day is great!

We are coming up on our 3rd anniversary in a couple months. It's almost time for us

to remove conditions! What a busy year. Wael is almost finished with all his registration

for classes. He certainly will be a busy man. He's taking 15 units this semester.

I'm happy to see "Taking Chance" is up for an Emmy. Also Kevin Bacon is up for an

Emmy for best actor!! He's a class act fellow!

Have a wonderful Saturday everyone. Take care and stay safe.

Happy Birthday Melly! And happy belated birthdays and anniversaries and congrats to those.

Did you all know that there is a group of MENA guys on here that rarely post in this forum but are in the visa forums? Most of them are from Egypt and I just found them all talking in this thread commenting on an embassy interview. :D I'd seen the various names around reading but never seen them all together talking like that before. It was interesting to read because of the broken English. Made me wonder if my Husband had broken English like that too or if I've just gotten used to it thinking he's fluent?

i thought fluent also until here and you will say (a word) and he is like what??? i supposed alot of it is slang.

Like the other day he said something and i told him STICK IT IN YOUR EAR......he had a quite startled look on his face wondering im sure why i ask him to stick the part of the tomato i had just cut off  then we had to go thru the meanings and the ways it could be repeated and included the STICK IT WHERE THE SUN DONT SHINE.... i could hear him in the kitchen later saying over and over to himself (stuck in the ear, stuck in the ear)

HAPPY BIRTHDAY MELLY!!!

You know, 40 ain't so bad.....it's when you hit 50 that makes one think your a half a century old. But may you have 100 more birthdays!

Thursday I will go with paperwork in hand and do some battle with the insurance situation. I have to have a procedure and the insurance is good until the end of this month. The problem is, the soonest there is an availability at the hospital is August 3rd.

Don't just open your mouth and prove yourself a fool....put it in writing.

It gets harder the more you know. Because the more you find out, the uglier everything seems.

I looked and I think it's cool that they're all doing it, in English, but they're doing it. This is a big deal.

We had a breakthrough in the English department here the other day. My husband's English is actually pretty good (he dreams in English now) but he's not sure of himself. Well, he had to call Texas and instead of asking me to do it for him (and, believe me, I saw him debating it in his head), he picked up the phone and did it himself. Not only that, the person he wanted to talk to wasn't there and he managed to get another phone number and so on. I was so proud of him for taking the leap, running up on a complication, and still managing it all by himself. Of course I pointed out this biga$$ success to him; he deserved some warm fuzzies.

Happy Birthday Melly!

Good day MENA! Happy Birthday Melly....enjoy your movie and dinner! You're still a youngin' and like Jackie said I don't think old is until around 70ish.

Nagi good luck with the battle of insurance, that's gotta suck

Everyone have a great Caturday Saturday, speaking of Caturday...one of my kitties is ripping the fur out on his leg for the past couple days (it's about the size of a quarter now)....what's up with that? Might have to bring him to the vet soon if this continues.
