as my husband does is taxes electronically... he has all the copies and the copies of the W2s to go with, should he sign them?

There is also this past year where he filled as married to me, I signed the one he sent in and the ITIN paper and such, but as I'm not there,

should he sign his signature to the copies?

Thanks all... we're going over all the documents now.

Best,

LGG

I am not sure I understand your question ...

If you're filing taxes married jointly, then you both need to sign the tax return forms. At least, that's what I was told by IRS when I called and HR Blok reps I talked to.

Have you already received ITIN, or are you applying for one?

I sent my (well, ours :)) 1040 form to my husband (beneficiary) to sign, and I signed also. He returned the form to me, and then I sent it in to IRS together with the W-7 application (husband signed), copy of his passport and W-2 to accompany the 1040 worksheets. I also sent copy of our marriage certificate juuuuust in case :)

No problems, just got our tax refund this week.

Hope this information helps you somewhat...
