Do RFE's, Checklist come both paper mail and Email?

Hello Everyone.

After sending in My AOS and DS230 th the NVC the IVR recording is playing the "Documents Incomplete message and a letter was mailed on July 9. " Turns out that's correct, I only sent the DS230 part 1 and they require the part2.

I called NVC directly for more Info, they gave me detailed info stating the AOS is ok but they need the DS230 part 2. I asked them If I was mailed a copy since I am using a lawyer. NVC told me that RFE's are not mailed but Emailed and the Lawyer was emailed with the info today.

According to my lawyer, they contacted the NVC and were told the message has something to do with my AOS but NVC wouldnt give them Details and to sit tight for a few days until they receive the letter. Im surprized that NVC gave me details about the RFE but not the Lawyer. Maybe they don't like lawyers handling the cases.

Im starting to feel like my lawyer is just telling me things to put me off for a few days, but before I confront them about this I was wondering if anyone here has recently received any paper copy RFE's from the NVC. Maybe they are waiting for the "Checklist" in the mail but it would help me greatly if anyone in here can let me know if they have received a paper RFE. Thanks!

Hello everyone. Qiix again. I'm getting a little frustrated with this RFE scenario here. The date changed on my recording from Mailed July 9th to Mailed July 11th. I spoke to the Operator and asked here if there's another change in my case. She says "just waiting for your DS230 part II and your Affidavit of support is fine".

NVC keeps telling me that they don't Mail paper if they have an Email address, but lawyer insists that they haven't received any email. Is there a delay from the "date Mailed" on the recording and the day the email is actually sent?

Since I have a lawyer, I can't sent the DS230 II yet because I don't have the bar code sheet. Now that NVC has my email address I guess I can ask them to send the letter one more time, but I hate to mess with the system if there's always a delay.

Well I'm happy at least that someone is looking at my documents...

I have a similar case

says checklist sent on July 13th

operator told me it was to be an email

but after 3 operators (and no email), operator looked and said, well does not appear sent by email

might have been sent by mail

we are not able to check our paper mail until the 26th

so we can't tell you more

maybe paper mail was sent

maybe email at nvc has a problem

noticed on somebody's history

05/27/2009: AVR says RFE sent by email

06/02/2009: Received RFE by email

06/02/2009: Sent RFE DHL

06/08/2009: NVC received RFE

06/10/2009: RFE entered into AVR

06/19/2009: Case Completed at NVC

so it can take a while even to receive email

It depends.

If you have registered email address with NVC, they may send it via email.

But if you didn't, they will try to send it via snail mail.

It goes to same with most of US Embassy, too.

true. a condition is that they have your email address

Also I must be careful with writing, I did not expect paper mail )

Just an FYI, they are very behind on answering email apparently they get thousands of emails a day which causes quite a backlog.

Usual turn-around response for email inquiry is about 7 days.

Just an FYI, they are very behind on answering email apparently they get thousands of emails a day which causes quite a backlog.

My RFE was sent via mail:)

my rfe was announced on July 13th, then sent by email on the 16th

I sent a email on the 16th and it was processed by the 21th (when I first checked)

having a lawyer can speed things, we had one and removed it but in the meantime got all the fees at the same time sent to lawyer copy to us.

Also means that if you have a lawyer it is still good to give your emails because you get eventually copied.
