Do any of you currently going through the process find that you look forward to weekdays more than weekends? Cause you know that your case has a higher chance of being worked on during the week. (I say that despite having 2 Sunday touches while waiting for NOA2.)

Bunz, I'm going to a jazz fest & might miss some or all of Rising Stars. Please be ready to PM me a detailed review. :)

kk.. u really wanna get suspended don't u..

i saw u on that thread w/ that dude chat bout his fiance had all these charges filed against her and u gonna put a smiley reading the newspaper as ur response!!

BRITE!!!!!!!!!

and then all these other ppl started saying stuff. and kathryn had to come shut them down LOL

mek me find it so i wont be teasing all ya'll noseys w/ information...

han everybody tink kk so innocent...

Speak for yourself Finesse. I'm not fooled. I mean she is cool...but I just don't buy the innocence.

hope he did im house chores first...

im did! He packed the dutty clothes to go to my parents' house this weekend & did the dishes & packed a lot of our weekend bag. He's a good boy!

Ells...I thought I would never see you type those words. They just PISS me off whenever I see them. Did you agree to marry a boy...a dog...or a man? I know you have a right to type whatever you want to...but that is a pet peeve for me. I just don't agree with calling a grown man a boy. I see a lot of you do this...and I just don't get it. Why can't it be that he is a good guy? I'm not trying to start anything...just couldn't hold it in today. I wonder if some of you decide to use boy because he is younger than you...or less educated...or you really don't understand the negative history of that word with Black men. Still love you like cook food Ells...but it grated on me today.

Jawi (F) (F) (F) Sorry to hear about the demotion, I am just worried about your health. How are you feeling throughout the day, that is a long work day for someone who is not fully recovered. How is the commute? Sigh.........

Hey Philly it wasn't really a demotion...although I'm calling it that. I worked with a more specialized group of employees that had a higher job title/description and salary band. But, I'm still a supervisor...just with more needy employees now.

I have to have the doctor fill out a workplace accommodation for Human Resources...so I'm going to ask him to state that I need daytime hours because of my medications...I don't mind the off days. The HR manager told me that they have to honor whatever accommodations the doctor recommends. I fell asleep on the highway Friday because I was stuck in traffic for 2 hours (even leaving at 3 PM) ...I almost caused a huge accident. Then, I drove off the road near my home because I couldn't stay awake. I woke up when I heard the car rolling over tree branches and rocks. I cried because it was so scary and I feel so helpless. Actually, I have been crying all weekend.

I have to go back and keep catching up.

Jawi, sorry to hear about your driving troubles. Hopefully between the doctor & your HR staff, the situation will turn around for the better.

As far as calling men "boy," I don't really do it, but I do understand why it bothers you. I remember in high school a white girl called a black guy "boy" and the whole class was in an uproar. But she intentionally did it to be demeaning. I didn't get that Ells meant it in any sort of derogatory way. Consequently my mind didn't even go to a negative place about it.

Bunz, I got back just in time.

Nat I am reviewing as I watch them

ok so these contestants are performing unplugged tonight

cindy breakspeare (bob marley baby madda) is the guest judge in place of nadine

First performer: Angele Smith

Song: No idea what the name is

My opinion: vocal is not bad, song started off meh but it picked up

Anthony: hated it (as usual)

Clyde: lacking electricity

Cindy: enjoyed it, says he looked nice, told him to watch for the high notes

Second performer: Moments (why are they still in the competition?)

Song: a jamaican oldies, i think by johnny nash

My opinion: i think their vocals are very mediocre and the matching clothes gimmick is so corny

Anthony: hated it (as usual), flogging the oldies to death, "movements were a comedy of errors"

Clyde: praised their consistency

Cindy: thought it was "cute", thought it was a strange choice of song

Kiki interviewed Princess Tia in the chill room, asked her if she's single and what does she look for in a man, she says she wants independence.

Third Performer: Adina Myrie

Song: Stranger in my House (Tamia)

My opinion: strong performance as usual, she looked nice too and considering she's performing with a "throat problem" she sounds good

Anthony: loved it, liked the drama

Clyde: loved it, called her the "fluffy diva" ( :ot: something about that word bothers me)

Cindy: thought it was great, good song choice, not so many accessories next time

Fourth Performer: Lady Danielle

Song: Better in time (Leona Lewis)

My opinion: She looked pretty, loved the hair, not so much the outfit, she paled in comparison to leona and she started off strong but she sounded a little off when she hit the chorus

Anthony: indifferent, "ill-equiped to deliver"

Clyde: Not strong enough

Cindy: Thought she did a very good job

I understand how the term 'boy' can be misconstrued, but I really can't see Ellseven being conscious of the way she used it as having negative connotations.....to me she used it in a playful joking manner. I think sometimes we have to be careful about being over sensitive. By all means, point it out, just in case she used it thst way in conversation and someone became offended. I think to be honest, it is a thing with black Americans more than Jamaicans. "Boy' can be used as a diss, but more in terms of referring to age or respect than in a racial context which Jamaicans don't associate with the word.

Jawi- That's awful and so scary! I think they sent you back to work too soon. If you explain what happened to your doctor is there any chance he will agree that it's too soon and allow you more time off? Or will that just cause more trouble with work? I'm sorry you have to go through all of this.

Nat and Bunz - So how did Princess Tia do tonight??
