Ah, USCIS! You never cease to amaze...!

Got this from trackitt...

"Per Officer Fair at the NCSC#:

All appointments scheduled on July 7th, 8th and 9th have been cancelled (nationwide) . The USCIS will be uploading new fingerprinting equipment that week. Everyone should be rescheduled within 1-2 weeks"

My appointment is on the tenth but I guess they just want to play safe and cancel the whole week.

Removing conditions....

6/10/09 - sent I-751

6/17/09 - received NOA1 (dated 6/11/09)

6/22/09 - received NOA2 (biometrics date -7/10/09 *notice date : 6/18/09)

6/27/09 - received NOA3 (Appointment Cancelled *notice date : 6/18/09)

7/23/09 - Biometrics

10/23/09 - Card Production email

10/30/09 -Approval letter received

10/31/09 - CARD Received

Naturalization......

6/04/10 - sent N400

I just got a letter saying mine (July 7th) has been cancelled too. Wonder if there's anyone with a July 7-9 appointment who hasn't had it cancelled?!

It seems that the whole week right after the 4th of July has been canceled. My take is that the incompetent USCIS officers are taking a long week off because the actual holiday falls on a Saturday, a day which USCIS is not open for business. It is a revenge to having a holiday on a day when there is no work....they just want to do nothing productive during that week.

From all cancelations, I have seeen appointments canceled all over the US from 7/6 all thru 7/10. My stepson had his Bio scheduled on 7/10 as a matter of fact.

What a lame bureaucratic system! Ciao!

This is just another lame excuse if you ask me. I am a programmer for a big company, and we have 4 huge system software installs every year from the software we write, and we don't stop serving our customer just because we are installing new software all across the country in all our systems. If we did that, we would probably be in the unemployment line the next day.

They just want to take a week off and waste tax dollars in the process if you ask me again. This is not a good excuse. I guess if the system were privatized then it would work as efficient as my company without so many delays and what-not.

Ciao!

Just thought I'd add that my husband got this letter today as well. Looks like it is happening to a lot of us. The notice date on the cancellation is the same as the notice date on the appointment letter! I think they like to test the validity of the marriage by stressing us out...

I don't think so. My stepson who arrived last May on a K-2 visa had his Bio canceled like most of us here. His mother already has a GC. It is just a lame case of incompetence which is all over the USCIS system. By the way, my stepson's Bio was schedule on 7/10, and it is now canceled.

My appointment is scheduled for the 6th, but I haven't received a cancellation letter. Do you think they will turn me away when I get there, or should I just do a walk in tomorrow, the 3rd?

I receive a similar notice too. I also suggest you still go to your biometrics appointment regardless of what the other notice says.

Just an update, I received a new appointment notice which is scheduled for 7/16. My original biometrics appointment was scheduled for 07/07. I was kinda hoping not to receive another appointment since I did a walk-in..

here's what uscis have to say regarding this cancellation, you can read the alert in uscis.gov.

"Application Support Center Appointment Rescheduling - July 6 - 10, 2009

System errors caused a number of Application Support Centers to be overscheduled during the week of July 6-10, 2009. As a result, some applicants may receive cancellation notices for appointments originally scheduled during this timeframe.

If you do not receive a cancellation notice, please appear at your ASC appointment as scheduled. If you do receive a cancellation notice, you will soon receive an ASC appointment notice for a new date and time, typically for an appointment within the next two to four weeks."

Hello Guys,

Is it still possible to do an early biometrics although I already received the cancelation letter? Or should I just wait for the new biometrics schedule.

My advice is that a walk-in is worth a try.

Here's my experience: Our July 9th appointment was canceled and rescheduled for July 23rd. After days of agonizing over how we were going to make the new appointment we decided to just try to do a walk-in today, expecting to be turned away. The security guard at the entrance just crossed out July 9th on the Notice (in pencil) and wrote today's date. No questions, not one word. We walked right in and were out in 10 minutes.

Weren't the offices suppose to be jammed this week? Oakland, Ca isn't exactly light on immigration cases. The whole cancellation thing is a mystery to me...

Started our visa journey applying for K-1: Oct 11, 2006

Married: Apr 13 2007
