The theory behind the Green Card production Wait

After all this talk about upgrading the Green card system, I was thinking that they have new features, like Obama's photo. Or maybe something out of the ordinary.

Guess what? the only different thing is, that they send me the card with a little envelope that reads" We recommend you use this envelope to protect your new card " What the heck, all this wait for a stupid envelope ! :)

So what's you theory behind this long haul ?

"Great minds discuss ideas. Average minds discuss events. Small minds discuss people."

They were not changing the cards they were updating the machinery that makes them.

USCIS is announcing that applicants may experience up to an eight week delay in the delivery of their permanent resident card while we are in the process of upgrading our card production equipment.

I thought they had an army of highly-trained hamsters, and the delay was due to several hundred figuring out how to unlock their cages. More staff were employed to catch the hamsters with nets!

In the real world, yes, it was due to the equipment being updated. I think from now on, production will be much swifter - VSC is now producing cards in as little as two weeks from approval.

02-18-2009 - I-751 filed (Removal of Conditions)

02-20-2009 - NOA1

Well that what they said. I am not buying it thou. :) They could have outsourced that production part to China, India, or Mexico ;) It will be cheaper, and cost effective.

I dount that would happen - outsourcing the work of a federal government department to another country?

I understand where you coming from. However, I heard a story while back about the IRS processing some refund checks in Mexico.

So, if the IRS does it why not other agencies ? At least some of the lazy workers, can start worrying about their jobs, and be doing the right thing...
