im going to have my medical in montreal at Dr. Howard Seiden's office, im wondering if i need my passport or just the letter from the nvc stating my case has been sent to montreal?

problem is my passport wont be here till late july.. i just found this out. for some reason they are taking forever to process my renewal when they told me it would only be 2 weeks.

i want to shedual my medical early as i can so i dont get blind sided just incase. plus i also want to get it out of the way.

You do need your passport, as verification of your identity. Perhaps they would take another form of ID if you requested. When I made my appointment they told me a list of things I need to bring, and they did make specific mention of bringing my passport. They also wanted to see correspondence with the consulate, showing your name and your case number. Most of us bring the cover page of the packet 3. I'm not sure that the letter from the NVC would work... I don't remember what kind of information they put in it. I would wait until I received my packet 3 until I did my medical, that seems to be the norm. Worst case scenario, you're missing a shot or two and it will delay your results by a couple days. A couple days is nothing when you'll likely need to wait a couple months to get your interview date!

When you call to make an appointment, these might be important questions to ask before committing to going to Toronto.

not going to toronto, going to montreal its cheaper in montreal and closer. DR. Seiden charges less in montreal then toronto.

Ah, I didn't even realize there was a Seiden's in Montreal. But my point remains. Maybe someone with a specific experience in Montreal can weigh in.

Not sure if it helps you at all, but when I spoke to a guy at Medisys in Montreal today, he said they have tons of open spots for appointments, even as early as tomorrow. So yeah, if you have to wait for your passport and your appointment letter, you should be able to book a medical exam there with very short notice before your interview.

FYI-I had mine done in Montreal at Medisys, I think I spelt that wrong LOL It was actually cheaper then the other place. My medical cost me $215 for the medical, no vacc. required I already had everything I needed. If you wanted to save a few dollars. Good luck!! Oh and its just a couple blocks from the consulate.

ok so i was told by another VJer that HPV was not required for the interview and aparently it IS required!!! also just to let people who read this know, the Dr office in montreal will accept driver license and letter from NVC they will also give the HPV shot for a fee, just have to ask when you make the apointment.

Yeah, kinda of irritated with one mod who keeps telling people not to worry because they wont need to get any vaccines, they dont realize quite a few consulates won't issue the visa without all the vaccines needed for AOS done/started.

During my medical it wasn't that I didn't required the vacc. its just that I already had everything that was needed. I just didn't want you to think that they weren't required. Sorry if it came out wrong in my previous post.
