Priceline - Hotel for Interview in Montreal

I've been trolling around the forums trying to find the best hotel reviews and deals. Well after doing some of my own research about all the hotels and reviews, I decided on Hyatt Regency Montreal. Well after looking around for prices, the room came out to 150/night USD. Normally this would be fine, but after all the money we've all spent on the entire process and also having to fork over cash to fly to Montreal from Vancouver - we wanted to save money somewhere.

Well... for all of those that have interviews in August, definitely check out Priceline and name your own price. I got the Hyatt for $65/night. What a deal!

Okay, I have a big question about Priceline and Hotwire. How come whenever I get pricing from them, it's never a good deal? I've always gotten better pricing on my own. Is there some sort of secret trick to this?

The pricing is dependent on the city and dates you're looking at. I've searched before and not seen that great of deals, but most of the time they have decent pricing.

Do you remember what city/month you were searching? For instance, Toronto always has pretty good deals, but NYC never really does - the Hotwire prices are still pretty expensive, but mostly still somewhat cheaper. It's really a crapshoot.

We also booked the Hyatt through Hotwire and it was a good hotel. Decent room and very close to the consulate!

We booked with Hotwire, got Comfort Inn for $46 a nite. Great since I had to stay the week because of the medical and interview.
