so my BIL added me as a friend on facebook.. I haven't confirmed it yet though and I really don't want to.. I don't want him seeing what I do on there.. not that I do anything wrong but still.... but if I don't accept he will wonder why

Can you create two ID's? One for VJ, and one for friends and family? That would make me feel uncomfortable also.

um yeah, you can. i've got over a dozen on there for games

When I was in RI last week and visited Timmies, it didn't even cross my mind to order Tim Bits!

Canadians Visiting the USA while undergoing the visa process, my free advice:

1) Always tell the TRUTH. never lie to the POE officer

2) Be confident in ur replies

3) keep ur response short and to the point, don't tell ur life story!!

4) look the POE officer in the eye when speaking to them. They are looking for people lieing and have been trained to find them!

5) Pack light! No job resumes with you

6) Bring ties to Canada (letter from employer when ur expected back at work, lease, etc etc)

7) Always be polite, being rude isn't going to get ya anywhere, and could make things worse!!

8) Have a plan in case u do get denied (be polite) It wont harm ur visa application if ur denied, that is if ur polite and didn't lie! Refer to #1

Whooo hooo!! I officially sold my house!! It's a done deal!! I'm so glad. I didn't want to have to deal with it after moving. Plus, I'll have some nice spending money!!smiley-bounce017.gif

Good morning everyone! What great news on selling your house TimandJoyce!

I'm at Panara Bread this morning, but forgot to charge my battery on my laptop, so won't be here too long. Just enough to say hello! No, we didn't buy a computer through AT&T at all, we just have their DSL service for internet. Nothing else, not the phone or TV. They have just recreated a situation though that their stupid modems break down frequently I guess, and if you don't purchase another modem of theirs then they won't support it, so we had to have one sent to us via their service as there are none in the stores in the St. Louis, area.

Yikes! Just got a message about a low battery, so I'd best post coffee! Enjoy your day!

Thanks Carla,

Now That's dedication! btw - I love Panera Bread - don't know if there is one in Atlanta or not - haven't found it yet if there is :) .

Just about to head off to physio -I've had a 'frozen shoulder' that started in January and reached second stage about 6 weeks ago. Therapy helps but it is expensive- copay is $40 and I need to go twice a week. Big Sigh. still, I am getting a little bit better range of motion - but it can take up to 2 years to resolve!

Cool and overcast here so far - only 77 - I still have the windows open. We had a huge storm come through yesterday - I was working about 15 miles away when it went overhead and we lost power. So I ended up driving home going back through the storm and beating it to the house where about 10 minutes later it came over the house too - rain like buckets being dumped. (At least I didn't have to water the garden!). The temperature plummeted from 89 degrees to 72 right after the storm but after the skies cleared it went back up to 88. It cooled off overnight though and it hasn't done that for a while, hence the open windows :) . More storms expected today but right now it is that quiet ' waiting' period before bad weather moves in. I kind of like it like this.

“...Isn't it splendid to think of all the things there are to find out about? It just makes me feel glad to be alive--it's such an interesting world. It wouldn't be half so interesting if we knew all about everything, would it? There'd be no scope for imagination then, would there?”

Ugh. I had a really bad shoulder a few years ago. It was excruciatingly painful. Finally gave in and went to the doctor. (Not a big fan of going to the doctor. lol) Well, he gave me a cortisone shot and I've been fine ever since! My range of motion isn't what it used to be, but I'm fine with that as long as the pain's gone. I told him (the dr) if I'd known that that's all it took I would have been to see him months ago.

Oh and speaking of selling things - we sold our car yesterday, the guy is picking it up after work today. My Husband posted it on craigslist, one guy emailed him (the car is for his wife) - the two of them came to see it last night and he called back a few hours later and said they would like it.

I wish I didn't get so attached to vehicles, it made me kind of sad

That's great your car sold! Sorry you have to say good bye. I posted an add for my dog on craigslist, and got a response the next day. I really wanted to bring her, but after spending some time with Tim in April, and discussing matters, there are several reasons why it wouldn't work. :( It was a hard decision I had to make, but I know she's in a good home, and I spoke with the girl that took her, and she's getting spoiled!! Perhaps in time, after we settle into married life together, we can choose the right pet for us. (children won't be in our future)

We had a big storm here the other night!! Very, very rare for us. A thunderstorm that lasted for hours!! Usually, IF we get thunder and lightening it will be like, 10 minutes, and gone. This one woke the whole Valley up in the middle of the night. There was more rainfall that night than we would get for the month of July. I guess over 800 lightening strikes were counted!
