Oh God, Wyatt, don't say things like that. My heart is racing now with a possible prospect like that.

You're right -- I'm just hypothesizing, and it shouldn't be taken as anything other than a slightly educated guess based partially on hearsay.

There is a kind of logic to it though. If I were the consulate director, I know I would want to plow through a backlog, rather than just pick at it piecemeal. I believe that they care, and that they know that every case is the equivalent of an entire family. If the director knew last week that there would be a lot of scheduling coming up, that means that there's manpower in place to deal with it.

Yep, I'm optimistic!

Geez. You just made my palms sweat.

But that's my math as well. There are always far fewer CR1s/IR1s than there are K1s so I know that probably in all of Canada, there aren't more than about 100 or less waiting for an interview. I think I over-estimate too but...

I would LOVE those guys if they did a Publishers Clearing house of all us Dust-bunny CR/IR1s and then picked up the pace for you guys.

Despite what you may think? I am a very optimistic, forward thinking person -- it takes very little for me to be appeased and happy....

It's a lovely thought, Wyatt... You are also very upbeat and forward t hinking -- that's a very good quality...

You keep us all humming along.

Shall we group hug now?

Come along, Mal -- you too... I know how you love a big, squishy group hug.

:D

Hey Wyatt...

maybe you'll be the lucky factor here? They'll be like oh well NOW we have to start scheduling!

;)

C'mon -- humour me, k?

Thanks.

Well, I was just taking a look at Trailmix's CR-1 timeline, and despite what I had previously thought, there are only 12 active CR-1 VJers waiting for an interview (11, if you don't count me since I'm only at sign in fail and not officially Case Complete yet). So if you assume that VJers account for maybe 1/3 of all CR-1 interview waiters (and that's a totally unfounded assumption...just seems like a ballpark number to me), then that means you have around 36 folks in that same boat. If the Montreal Consulate plans on doing a scheduling blitz like they did with the K-1s, well...it's not outside the realm of possibility that half of the people currently waiting on an interview will get one for December, based upon the assurance of the consulate director (see the Missa / KnJ / Cdn_Gewels thread) that there will be a lot of CR-1 scheduling soon.

Maybe I'm naive. Maybe I'm overly optimistic. Maybe I just have a positive glow because of my sign in fail. But I can't help but think that things are going to get better for all of the CR-1s VERY soon! :)

Don't tell my secret!

Can you imagine? I expect case complete in two weeks or so. If we did get an interview in December/January - we'd be home so soon!

Montreal: BEAT!!! Approved!!!!!

Aww. Thanks Lgg.

It's just optimistic realism...

I can be cynical about some things sometimes, but at the core of almost everything there is a kind of logic. I believe in that, just as I believe that everyone has a deep-rooted sense of humanity, whether or not they choose to bury it beneath other tendencies.

I don't doubt that the folks in the consulate want to reunite families...they've just had the misfortune of having to deal with some bureaucratic stuff that has overwhelmed them with all of the other visas and consular activities they're involved in.

Alright. Now I'll put away the happy-happy juice and the rose-tinted glasses, but I contend that there's a lot of reason for optimism right now. :)

OH my god! I just had a little squirt of total hope and joy too! Like a movie of the week or something!!

I would call it:

Get These Canadian Immigrants Home for Christmas!

Can't you just hear the sleighbells ringing now??

Can't you just see the workers at the Montreal Consulate with tears in their eyes saying things like:

"See Jim and Francoise, I knew we could do it, by gum I knew we could!"

~fin~

I have this vision of our thick packets sitting there, with big glum photos of each of us on top of them, a la World Vision orphans, just waiting to be given our new home!

Oh yeah. I totally see that movie, Lgg.

What they mean is, for a CR1 or IR1 visa, you can sign in at NVC - when it says 'login failed' it means your file has, or is about to exit NVC's system and be put on the waiting list for an interview in Montreal.

Yes wyatt, I tend to agree, this isn't the first time they have pushed through a batch of K visas and then CR1/IR1, if memory serves, so you may well be right.

I can be cynical about some things sometimes, but at the core of almost everything there is a kind of logic. I believe in that, just as I believe that everyone has a deep-rooted sense of humanity, whether or not they choose to bury it beneath other tendencies.

Are you sure or is this just a login failed high? :hehe:
