Morning everyone.

Mmmm... Squirrel pot pie.

Montreal Interviewer: "What do you have in common with each other?"

Peachey: "We're REALLY weird."

Montreal Interviewer (incredulously to me): "Do you agree with that?"

<I think back to several days before the interview. Driving through the country, passing a field with cows...>

Peachey: "MOOOO! MOOOOO! Does this make me weird?"

Me: "No, well yes. Here, let me roll down the windows so they can hear you better!"

Peachey: "MOOOOO!!!!"

<back to interview>

Me: "Yes, yes I do."

I must say, early morning revenge stories always goes along interestingly with my coffee.

This thread always has an overabundance.

I've always wanted to own a home. There's something about renting... not sure if it was something ingrained in me as a child, but I've always been adverse to leasing anything - car, home, whatever. I'd rather make regular payments towards something that is mine, even in that means driving in a lesser car than I could've rented, or a smaller home than I could've made rental payments on.

It'll probably be awhile until we're in any position to buy ourselves a home, however small, but it's definitely something I look forward to.

Yep I'm totally the same way except for the car area. I've bought cars in the past and had so many lemons that I just decided to lease for a while until we have kids. That way I keep getting new cars that won't have any trouble that's not covered until I'm ready to go into mini-van mode and just buy one Lol.

You wanna know what's REALLY annoying? When small stuff breaks down or doesn't work in your house and you have NO idea how to fix it. I'm going nuts with a bunch of little stuff that I'm going to end up having to pay someone to fix until I learn how, man it's driving me nuts haha.

Google it. Internet is for more than Immigration and porn!!:whistle:

Canadians Visiting the USA while undergoing the visa process, my free advice:

1) Always tell the TRUTH. never lie to the POE officer

2) Be confident in ur replies

3) keep ur response short and to the point, don't tell ur life story!!

4) look the POE officer in the eye when speaking to them. They are looking for people lieing and have been trained to find them!

5) Pack light! No job resumes with you

6) Bring ties to Canada (letter from employer when ur expected back at work, lease, etc etc)

7) Always be polite, being rude isn't going to get ya anywhere, and could make things worse!!

8) Have a plan in case u do get denied (be polite) It wont harm ur visa application if ur denied, that is if ur polite and didn't lie! Refer to #1

My mental image of you has been shattered. All these times you're saying to tell the truth and then you go and lie like that.

Good morning!

Yes, google it, there is only one way to learn how to fix all the stuff in your house - instructions on the internet and many many hours under a sink

(your local home hardware store is a good source of information too btw)

Sooo we went to register our truck the other day - Alberta has another inspection hoop we have to jump through (already did the federal one). Yes, we have to pay for it and yes they are very very picky apparently woo hoo!

*sigh*

I'm still worried about my friend. I don't even know why I am, her boyfriend isn't even questioning her way of living. None of her friends are.

She's still been smoking pot at least 5 times a week and I swear to God she is officially addicted.

Maybe not addicted on pot itself, but that feeling of it.

I really want her at my wedding, but I'm scared she'll get me in trouble or something with hotel staff if she does end up doing what she does :(

I've tried talking to her and it's not getting through. It's not even getting through to her boyfriend.

Sheesh, I dont want to worry about stuff like this

What about doing a search online for support groups for friends/family/partners of drug/alcohol abusers. There's sure to be some tips on there. (F)

Yeah... I should try that.
