Question for all of you regarding Net books.

I would like to get one and I was wondering if anyone here has one/is using one and what you think of it? I have a couple of fully-loaded powerful desktops for work and such and a Mac G5 at work but I want a netbook so I can sit on the couch, do some minor chatting, surf the net and maybe read online books or even watch a movie.

That is all. No work on it, no big programs or applications just something to use for entertainment.

So... does anyone have one? Do you like it? Which one do you have and do you have the specs.

This would really help me pick one out.

Best to you guys...

:)

My Peachey is sick. :(

Montreal Interviewer: "What do you have in common with each other?"

Peachey: "We're REALLY weird."

Montreal Interviewer (incredulously to me): "Do you agree with that?"

<I think back to several days before the interview. Driving through the country, passing a field with cows...>

Peachey: "MOOOO! MOOOOO! Does this make me weird?"

Me: "No, well yes. Here, let me roll down the windows so they can hear you better!"

Peachey: "MOOOOO!!!!"

<back to interview>

Me: "Yes, yes I do."

My Peachey is sick. :(

Awww :( Cold sick or flu sick? There have been 4-5 confirmed cases of H1N1 in our school district (and I run the local youth center!), so aside from bathing in germX all I can do is hope I don't get it!

I don't have one myself as I don't really have a need for one. But I do have a couple of colleagues who do. One in particular I think is pertinent to your situation. She pretty much said the same thing that you did, just looking to browse, write email etc. The problem is that she got a bargain basement one, an HP that she got for super cheap when she extended her contract with her cell phone company. The thing works just great for browsing the internet and writting emails, but that is it. If she tries to go to a website that has video or clips longer than 20 seconds, the machine really can't handle it because of the pathetic excuse for an integrated graphics card.

Actually... I am thinking of buying one of these for my son. See I'm a PC too. :P

I was looking at Dell but am generally unsure also. I heard some companies just give them away too. Hmmmm.

you are EBIL.... trying to get me in trouble!!! LoL, i can't go to that site, they have blocked all websites that you could possibly shop at. From what I've seen and heard people I know say, the Acer line of netbooks are really pretty good.

Ohhhh. MAH bad! Not trying to be ebil at all...

Our firewall at work is fairly lax as our design group is the only group that uses Macs -- we're on our own network and THUS, configure the Firewall ourselves... T'aint much we can't do here.. .

While Acer is an okay line of laptops/netbooks (I have one), she doesn't have an Acer on the list. :P

I'd go with one of the Asus. MSI hasn't had laptops/netbooks out as long as Asus, I believe.

My matron of honour just hit me up on IM and asked if it was OK if her husband stuck around for my bachelorette this Friday. Apparently he's catering the affair and has 5 dishes that represent some of the cuisine in the United States.

YAY sounds so much fun.

Then my Canadian Bridal Shower is on Sunday and it's my birthday on Monday. This weekend is THE WIN~!

So... not being a cofee drinker myself... why water?

It cleanses the palate. It's usually served with a twist of lemon.

Uhhhh.....

I can safely say I will never be booking there. I cannot imagine having breakfast with a giraffe slobbering over my eggs.

I loved when Friendly rocked the rocking chair. lol

Yeah, well I wasn't feeling well this morning, so I slept in. I'm at work now, thank god, cause my head probably would have exploded at my neighbor if I was home.
