arthur,

check out boost. then click on calling cards. it's a 49c connection fee, 1c per minute and the card is rechargable. a 2 hour phone call will cost you $1.69. i think that is pretty bloody cheap.

Thank you, Matt. Where can you buy these cards from? Supermarkets, petrol stations?

When I was still living in Australia I used an Oz-Call phone card which has a 65 cent connection fee and is 0.9 cents a minute. I used to buy them at any newsagent that sold Tattslotto tickets but I think they are avaliable at any newsagent. They also have a 1800 number for if you ever have any problems or to recharge so you keep the same pin number. My family and friends all use this card now to keep in touch with me.

:thumbs: i use daybreak as well and $10.00 calling card gives you 280 minutes = 4.6 hours talk time.

everytime you call it cost you $00.50 cents to connect but doesn't go against phone card if you use public phone box cost you 50cents to connect same as if you rang from home.

i use them all the time to talk with my lovely wife (L) (Boston area) i live in Adelaide.

cheers :thumbs::yes:

Paul :whistle::whistle:

Thank you, Debby.

Until now, I have used the Daybreak calling card. There is NO CONNECTION FEE, however if you call between 1-5am, then the call rate drops to 0.5 cents per minute (ie half-a-cent per minute!).

no worries. if you look on their website you can get a list of retailers around your postcode that sell them. i originally brought mine from woolworths but i don't think they all sell them.

The best one I have found is supersaver which was less than 1c per min to homelines and 2c to cells in the usa. You can get these at all coles supermarkets. Another good one that you can get at petrol stations and 7'11's is Say Gday. No connection fee either if you are in a capt. city and a 1300 for country area's.

With many of these phone cards, it seems like six of one, and half-a-dozen of the other.

Oztalk may have cheaper per minute rate, however it only allows one call per connection. If the call recipient is unable to make it to the phone in time, then you've just paid for the price of a local call, plus a connection fee. Moreover, the call time limit is 2 hours.
