We had lebanese today at a restaurant called "Open Sesame." I decided to try a vegan dish called "Filafel" which had Filafels (um...I'm not entirely sure what the filafels were made out of, but I think they were made out of alfalfa sprouts, chick peas and fava beans, then formed into a burger shape.) It also came with a yummy mediterranean salad and hummus with pita to dip. All in all, the meal was actually very yummy...my husband and I are going to try going vegan (or vegetarian if he can't handle the limitations) next month, so this was a good introduction :)

I think it's spelled falafel. Yes, it's chickpeas basically, with fava beans. Delicious! I made some last week, but fried them up as small flat patties, and then had them with a yogurt sauce in a pita. Very yummy.

Tonight we're going to the ballgame with another couple. We're going out for supper to a Nicaraguan restaurant. They don't have a website, so I can't show you their menu. I'm sure it will be wonderful though!

Oh yummy! Falafel is one of my favourite foods of all time. I've been vegetarian for 15 years now, so if you need any recipes, tips or recommendations PM me :)

And you can buy whatever you want, without standing there inspecting the ingredient list for HFCS!

Yay, thanks :) I'll probably hit you up on that one at some point, since I really don't know what I'm doing, hehe. It's funny, when my husband first told me he wanted to try vegetarian, you and Sprailenes were the first people who popped into my mind when I started wondering how the heck I was going to find yummy recipes lol. It shows how much VJ occupies my mind

I decided to make potatoes and fish - nothing too exciting - but it should be good.

I made Autumnchk's scrambled omelette again this time with yellow squash, onions, garlic, peppers, okra and mozzarella cheese. I've made this a number of times - it is so quick and easy and good.

I love it so much Kathryn, I'm glad you do too :)

We had bbq baked chicken, broccoli and rice tonight. Hubby is very excited because we are supposed to get our order tomorrow from Omaha Steaks. My best friend gave him a gift certificate for his birthday, and he ordered filet mignon. We've never ordered from there before, so hoping it is good.
